Hotel Transylvania movies ranked by worldwide gross
| Rank | Film | Year | Worldwide gross |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation | 2018 | $529,764,920 |
| 2 | Hotel Transylvania 2 | 2015 | $474,800,000 |
| 3 | Hotel Transylvania | 2012 | $377,140,952 |
| 4 | Hotel Transylvania: Transformania | 2021 | $18,480,000 |
All figures are worldwide gross receipts reported in The Numbers’ Hotel Transylvania franchise table, consulted in 2026. They are not studio profit, net revenue, or a measure of streaming value. The table shows an unreleased future franchise entry as well; it is excluded here because this ranking covers released feature films.
What the ranking shows
The third film leads
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation ranks first at $529,764,920 worldwide. It is ahead of the second film by $54,964,920, based on the figures in The Numbers’ table.
The first two films also drew the largest grosses
Hotel Transylvania 2 is second at $474,800,000, while the 2012 original is third at $377,140,952. These totals put the first three entries well ahead of Transformania in the selected database’s ranking.
#1 Best Overall
- Welcome to Hotel Transylvania, Dracula?s lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up and no humans are allowed.
Transformania is the final chapter, but fourth by this measure
The Numbers lists Hotel Transylvania: Transformania at $18,480,000 worldwide. Sony described it as the franchise’s “final chapter” in an April 15, 2021 announcement. Sony’s official movie page identifies it as a 2021 film.
Why box-office totals can differ by source
The ranking uses one database consistently rather than combining totals from different trackers. For example, Box Office Mojo currently lists $366,412,829 for all releases of the original Hotel Transylvania, compared with $377,140,952 in The Numbers’ franchise table. The available figures do not establish the reason for the difference, so neither total should be treated as a number all databases share.
Gross alone also cannot show which film was most profitable. The ranking table does not provide comparable production costs or the share of ticket sales received by the studio.
