Hijinx Hotel at Karrinyup Shopping Centre is an immersive game venue, not overnight accommodation. When PerthNow reported its opening in December 2023, the attraction featured 10 timed challenge rooms for small teams, with a Karrinyup-specific room called “The Restaurant.”
What is Hijinx Hotel?
Hijinx Hotel is a group entertainment attraction built around short, interactive challenges. The “hotel” name is part of the experience’s branding; there are no hotel rooms to book. Funlab WA operations manager Lauren Dight put it plainly in the opening report: “For us, Hijinx is the hotel where you play not stay, so you can definitely leave your suitcases at home for this one.”
The venue is inside Karrinyup Shopping Centre in Perth. PerthNow’s report, published December 6, 2023, said it was due to open on Friday, December 8, 2023.
What do you do inside?
The opening-era format was a series of quick-play challenge rooms. PerthNow reported that teams of two to six players tackled each challenge for four minutes, with scores recorded on a leaderboard.

One room, “The Restaurant,” was created specifically for the Karrinyup venue. The report also described a balcony bar serving cocktails and other beverages, and presented the attraction as suitable for guests of all ages. Those details describe the venue at launch; current room offerings, bar service and age conditions should be checked with the venue before visiting.
What did tickets cost at launch?
PerthNow reported launch prices of $25 for adults and $20 for children on December 6, 2023. These are historical opening-era prices, not confirmed current rates. The report does not establish today’s ticket prices, booking terms or availability.

What is known about the opening?
Funlab CEO Michael Schreiber said the company was excited “to bring our Hijinx Hotel brand to Perth and give locals the chance to experience out-of-this-world fun.” Karrinyup Shopping Centre general manager Ben Davis called it “another first to market brand for us” and said it added an entertainment option to the centre’s leisure precinct. Those comments framed the launch; they do not establish the venue’s current operating status.
For a present-day visit, confirm directly with Hijinx Hotel or Karrinyup Shopping Centre that the venue is operating and check current prices, hours, age rules and booking requirements. The available opening report is dated December 6, 2023, and does not verify those details as of October 8, 2026.
