“Content Warning,” the fifth episode of High Potential Season 2, pairs a deadly influencer-house stunt with two longer-running questions: what happened to Roman, and what does new Captain Nick Wagner want from Major Crimes? Wagner’s arrival is unsettling, but the episode offers suspicion rather than proof that he is working against the team.

The episode review from Absolute Geeks describes the victim, Tori Nolan, as an investigative journalist working undercover in the house. It says the inquiry follows a contaminated protein-powder supply and leads toward an operator connected to a halfway house. Those are details reported by that review, rather than plot points independently confirmed by the season listing.
Is Captain Nick Wagner suspicious?
The episode makes Wagner’s arrival feel like a source of pressure, not a settled answer. In its reading, the Absolute Geeks review finds his interest in Morgan and the Major Crimes team unsettling and treats his presence as a slow-burn question about where his loyalties lie. That is an interpretation of the episode’s setup, not confirmation of a hidden motive or a reveal that he is an antagonist.

That uncertainty gives the procedural case an institutional edge: Morgan and her colleagues are handling a new investigation while also learning how their new captain intends to run the unit. The tension works best as a reason to watch Wagner closely, rather than as evidence that the show has already answered the question.
How the Roman storyline develops
The Roman thread keeps the episode connected to the season’s larger mystery. Absolute Geeks reports that the story advances through Arthur Ellis and a backpack, but leaves the backpack unresolved by the end. Ava’s search for information is also part of the episode premise in the Rotten Tomatoes listing.
Rank #2
That open thread contributes to the episode’s transitional feel: it moves the disappearance story forward without making it the hour’s central investigation or delivering a complete answer.
Does the episode’s case pay off?
Absolute Geeks praises the blend of the case and character material, particularly Morgan and Ava’s conflict and the slow build around Wagner. Its main reservation is that the middle of the case feels thin and needs more connective explanation. The result, in that reviewer’s assessment, is an installment with momentum and setup, but less of a self-contained procedural payoff.

That trade-off is central to the episode’s appeal. Viewers looking for the season’s wider arcs to advance have several threads to follow; viewers expecting the case to feel fully developed may find its connective tissue less satisfying. The review’s judgment is one critic’s response, not a consensus rating.
