When did the Hello Kitty x Kate Spade collection come out?
Sanrio announced the capsule on November 20, 2024, connecting it to Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary and the reopening of Kate Spade New York’s Ginza flagship. The first in-person launch was at that Tokyo store on November 30, 2024. Sales through the Japanese official site began January 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The January update described planned access through Kate Spade’s global official outlet site and selected outlet stores. Sanrio’s November announcement and its January 9, 2025 update document those dates and channels.
That history supports a Japan-first release followed by planned global outlet availability in January 2025. It does not establish a newly announced worldwide winter launch. Nor does the phrase “global outlet” mean that every item was available in every country or store.
What is in the collection?
The capsule combines Hello Kitty motifs with Kate Spade New York’s colorful, playful design approach. Sanrio’s release announcement lists crossbody and tote bags, pouches and other small leather goods, apparel, jewelry and keychains. It also identifies footwear and accessories including phone and laptop cases.
