Alternate designs for Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk were reported in 2025, but the available reporting does not establish that they were an unauthorized social-media leak. ComicBook.com connected the images to pages in The Art of Captain America: Brave New World, describing mustached designs and one with smoke rising from the character. These are concept alternatives, not the Red Hulk design seen in the film.
What the reported concept art shows
A July 4, 2025 report by ComicBook.com describes alternate Red Hulk designs in the film’s art book. The variations include facial-hair styles, including a prominent mustache, and an image in which smoke comes off Red Hulk’s body.
These images show design exploration, not features confirmed for the finished character. Ford’s on-screen Red Hulk is clean-shaven; the film also addresses Ross’s missing mustache in dialogue.
Was the art actually leaked on social media?
That has not been established. ComicBook.com says The Artbook Collector shared a video detailing the contents of the art book, which includes pages with alternate Red Hulk designs. The report does not identify who first published the images, establish that any posting was unauthorized, or show that social media was their original source. The careful description is that the concept art was shown or circulated and was reported to appear in the film’s art book—not that it was proven to have leaked.

How the concept art differs from Ford’s Red Hulk reveal
The story about alternate designs is separate from the public reveal of Ford as Red Hulk. His identity as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross’s transformed alter ego was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024. In August, Marvel Studios included footage of Ford’s Red Hulk in its 85th-anniversary video, as reported by TheWrap. Those were public character reveals; the later art-book report concerns development alternatives.

In a March 3, 2025 interview with The Art of VFX, production VFX supervisor Alessandro Ongaro said the design needed to retain a strong resemblance to Ford. He cited the actor’s eyes and chin scar as likeness details and said the facial structure was adjusted to echo him. Ongaro said Weta FX handled Red Hulk-related work, and that facial animation combined keyframing with facial capture from Ford’s performance.

“The ultimate goal was to make sure the audience could truly see Harrison Ford behind Red Hulk’s face—and I think we achieved that.”
The concept variations therefore sit within a production effort to create a transformed character who remained recognizable as Ford. The reported mustaches and smoke effect are options explored in design, not confirmation that they appear in the finished film.
