Hamilton made a fictional Fremen device called the Desert Watch for Dune: Part Two in collaboration with prop master Doug Harlocker, guided by director Denis Villeneuve’s vision. The device seen in the film is a prop—not a watch Hamilton sells. The company released two limited-edition Ventura watches inspired by it: the analog Ventura XXL Bright and the digital Ventura Edge.
What is the Desert Watch in Dune: Part Two?
The Desert Watch is a custom fictional wrist device created for the film, not a production model with a real-world reference number. Hamilton worked with prop master Doug Harlocker on its design. Hamilton describes it as available only on Arrakis, the desert planet in the story. Hamilton’s collaboration page distinguishes the screen prop from the two consumer watches inspired by it.
The film device’s practical functions are not established in the cited coverage. WatchPro reported that Hamilton was not briefed on what functions it would perform, so it would be speculation to call it a communicator, fitness tracker or working timepiece. WatchPro’s February 23, 2024 report also published Hamilton CEO Vivian Stauffer’s description of the work as the first time the company had been asked to design “something which is not a watch.”
Which Hamilton watches were released?
Hamilton introduced two limited Ventura models inspired by the prop. The Bright uses analog hands and illuminated blue lines; the Edge takes a digital approach with an angular, black-coated case and a blue display. Their edition limits and specifications differ:

How do the two Ventura editions differ?
Choose the Bright for analog timekeeping
The Ventura XXL Bright is the analog option. Its hands provide conventional time reading, while a button-activated light effect adds the blue lines that reference the film design. It is the closer fit for someone who wants the inspiration expressed through a luminous analog dial rather than a digital screen.

Choose the Edge for the stronger prop-like look

Hamilton gives it reference H24624330; including that reference when searching listings helps distinguish it from other Ventura Edge models.
Can you still buy either watch?
Availability depends on market and date. Hamilton’s Singapore page labels the Edge H24624330 “Past collection” and shows a related Bright entry as unavailable online. That is a regional status, not proof that no examples are available elsewhere or through resale. Hamilton’s UK collaboration page has displayed prices of GBP 1,580 for the Bright and GBP 2,230 for the Edge, while the Singapore page shows SGD 2,420 for a related Bright entry. These regional listings are not a reliable basis for a current price or worldwide stock claim; check Hamilton or an authorized seller in the market where you plan to buy.

Why did Hamilton make a watch for the film?
The project extends Hamilton’s long-running relationship with film production into prop design: the company says its watches have appeared in more than 500 films since 1932, a company claim reported by GQ on March 1, 2024. The Desert Watch is distinct from that familiar role of supplying a real watch for a character to wear. For Dune: Part Two, Hamilton and Harlocker instead developed a fictional object for the film’s world, then translated elements of its appearance into two limited Ventura editions.
