For Halloween 2024, the options extended beyond new horror films: the season brought survival-horror games, a game expansion, streaming movies, and original TV series. Choose by the experience you want—retro puzzles, psychological dread, found footage, or horror comedy—and treat streaming and event dates below as historical, not guarantees of what is available now.
Games: choose between retro survival horror and a major remake
Crow Country for old-school atmosphere
Crow Country is a retro survival-horror game set in an abandoned Atlanta amusement park in 1990. Its grimy visuals, cryptic puzzles, and slow pacing suit players drawn to the atmosphere and deliberate exploration of PlayStation-era horror. The indexed 2024 roundup identifies the game but does not establish current platforms, editions, or availability; check the platform store for those details. Source: exact-title roundup

Silent Hill 2 for a remake of a horror classic
The 2024 roundup also highlights the Silent Hill 2 remake. It is a natural pick for someone looking for a major horror-game release rather than a retro-styled revival. The available roundup excerpt does not establish platform, edition, price, or current availability, so confirm those details with the relevant store before buying. Source: exact-title roundup
The Lake House for Alan Wake 2 players
The Lake House is a short Alan Wake 2 expansion that arrived in time for Halloween 2024. It features Federal Bureau of Control agent Kiran Estevez and connects the story to Remedy’s wider universe, including Control. It is an expansion, not a standalone recommendation: check official product information for the base game, platform, and add-on requirements before purchase. Source: exact-title roundup

How to choose what to watch or play

- Already playing Alan Wake 2? The Lake House is the expansion in this selection; check its add-on requirements.
- Want a particular film mood? The dated TV Guide picks include psychological horror, a haunted culinary setting, found-footage science fiction, and horror comedy.
- Looking for a series? Teacup and Hysteria! were on Peacock’s 2024 schedule; check the service’s current catalog in your region.
