She said she was 11 weeks pregnant and expected the baby in January 2025. ABC News later reported that Blanchard and Urker welcomed a daughter in December 2024, so the pregnancy is not current.
What Blanchard announced in July 2024
On July 9, 2024, Blanchard shared the news on social media and YouTube. She said the pregnancy was unplanned and unexpected, but that she and Urker were excited to become parents. “This was not planned at all. It was completely unexpected but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood,” she said in the announcement, as quoted by ABC News.
ABC News and CBS News reported that Blanchard was 11 weeks pregnant when she made the announcement and expected the baby in January 2025. Those dates describe what she reported in July 2024, not a current pregnancy.
What she said about the pregnancy
In an ABC News interview published July 12, 2024, Blanchard said a doctor had warned her about possible fertility issues, which made the pregnancy a shock. She also discussed taking prenatal vitamins and drinking enough water. Those were personal remarks about her own experience, not medical guidance. ABC News’ interview reported her comments.

Blanchard also said, “I want to be everything my mother wasn’t,” in comments reported by CBS News. The statement was her description of the kind of mother she hoped to be; it should not be treated as evidence about how she would parent.
Blanchard and Urker later welcomed a daughter
ABC News reported in December 2024 that Blanchard and Urker welcomed their first child, a daughter. Blanchard said she would not post photos of the child. The birth report resolves the timeline: the July announcement was followed by a birth later that year, rather than an ongoing pregnancy.

Blanchard’s public history includes abuse by her mother, a context relevant to her stated wish to approach motherhood differently. ABC’s 20/20 program description summarizes that background and identifies experts interviewed for the program. Because Blanchard said she would keep her daughter out of media photos, coverage of the announcement is best kept to the public timeline and Blanchard’s own remarks rather than speculation about the child.
