What happens in the mid-credits scene?
Rocket leads a new Guardians lineup on an alien planet. The team includes Groot, Kraglin, Adam Warlock, Cosmo, Blurp, and one of the girls rescued from the High Evolutionary’s ship. Disney’s explainer does not name the girl; TIME identifies her as Phyla-Vell.

As danger approaches, the group prepares to defend the planet’s inhabitants. Rocket puts on Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love,” the song associated with the opening of the first Guardians of the Galaxy. What happens after the credits?
The final scene is a quieter epilogue: Peter Quill has breakfast with his grandfather. A newspaper headline reports that Kevin Bacon was abducted by aliens, a callback to The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, where Mantis and Drax bring Bacon to cheer Peter up.
