Before No Doubt reunited at Coachella in April 2024, Gwen Stefani told Jimmy Kimmel she did not remember the band’s songs and expected to relearn roughly eight or nine for the festival. That was her estimate, not a confirmed count of songs in the set.
What Gwen Stefani said about relearning No Doubt songs
In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, Stefani said she thought she would have to learn “probably like eight or nine” songs. Uproxx reported the remark in its coverage of the interview: Uproxx’s report.

Her comment described her preparation ahead of the reunion, not a claim that she had forgotten every lyric or a disclosure of the final set list. The interview report does not establish how many songs No Doubt ultimately performed.
Which song did she mention?
Stefani brought up “Different People,” describing it as one of the first songs she wrote. WRAL identifies it as a track on No Doubt’s 1995 album Tragic Kingdom in its coverage of her comments. Her mention was an example from the band’s catalog, not confirmation that the song was on the Coachella set list.

Her joke about forgetting lyrics
Stefani also joked that if she forgot the words, she would “just have to let them sing it for us,” according to WRAL. The remark cast the audience as a backup plan if the songs did not come back to her during the performance.
