Why was the flash mob being held?
The Guildford Association hosted the event in memory of former committee member Chris Cocozza, who PerthNow reported died of lung cancer in 2021. Organiser Steph Radis said, “I know he would love that this event is in his honour and raising money for lung cancer research.”
#1 Best Overall
Spectators were asked to bring a gold coin donation and support a cake stall, with the money intended for Lung Foundation Australia. Radis described the gathering as “a chance to have fun for a good cause.” It was presented as a fundraiser, not a ticketed commercial event.
What does Wuthering Heights Day celebrate?
The gathering draws on the dance in Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights” music video, where Bush performs in a red dress. PerthNow connected the song to Emily Brontë’s 19th-century novel of the same name. Fans recreate the video’s dance at gatherings known as Wuthering Heights Day celebrations.

PerthNow described the tradition as a global phenomenon but did not provide an attendance count or other measure of its scale. Fitzpatrick told the publication, “I love music and dancing and it is great to be part of a flash mob and see everyone dressed up,”
