Gotham was reported to be leaving HBO Max in the United States on September 29, 2025. That date has passed, so the old “and soon” warning is no longer current. In the latest U.S. availability snapshot cited here, checked September 11, 2026, the series had digital-purchase and DVD/Blu-ray purchase listings; subscription availability may vary by date and country.
Which Batman series was the headline about?
It refers to Gotham, the Fox drama that ran from 2014 to 2019. DC describes it as an origin story for its villains and vigilantes: a prequel centered on Gotham and the figures who come before Batman’s established career. The show’s five seasons tell a completed story rather than an ongoing series. DC’s series page gives the run dates and premise.
Did Gotham leave HBO Max?
CBR reported on September 10, 2025, in a story surfaced by IMDb News, that Gotham was scheduled to leave HBO Max in the United States on September 29, 2025. That was an announced removal date, not a current countdown. The report does not establish the title’s availability in every country or whether it later returned to any subscription catalog. The report surfaced on IMDb News.
Where can you watch or buy Gotham now?
For the United States, JustWatch’s page says it checked 370 streaming services on September 11, 2026, and lists digital purchase as well as DVD and Blu-ray purchase options, including Amazon. The 370 figure is the guide’s stated search scope, not the number of services carrying the show. Its listing is a dated snapshot: check the service or store directly for current access, territory, edition, stock, and terms. Check JustWatch’s U.S. Gotham listing.

Digital purchase
A digital storefront listing lets you buy a season or episodes, but a product page alone does not mean the title is included with a subscription. Prime Video, for example, has a product page for Gotham: The Complete First Season, described as 22 episodes. Verify the listing’s current region, format, and purchase terms before buying. Prime Video’s first-season product page.
DVD or Blu-ray
Physical media is a separate purchase route and does not depend on the show remaining in a subscription catalog, though you need a compatible player. Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia announced DVD and Blu-ray editions of the fifth and final season in 2020. A retailer listing describes a complete-series DVD set containing 100 episodes on 26 discs; that count describes that product listing. Check the current listing for format, region compatibility, stock, and the exact edition. Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia’s final-season release announcement; CCVideo’s complete-series DVD listing.

What to know before relying on a listing
- Availability is time- and region-sensitive. The streaming and purchase details above are a U.S. snapshot checked September 11, 2026, not a guarantee of what is available today.
- Retailer product pages can describe an edition without guaranteeing that it is in stock or suitable for your player.
- A season storefront page is not proof that the entire series is included in a subscription.
