A new 40-minute documentary follows Concord folk-rock group The Anna & Mickey Show through rehearsals, local performances and its first studio recording together. At its center is “Home,” a song Anna Huckabee Tull wrote about Concord in 2012 and the band has now rearranged as an ensemble. The film traces how the musicians find trust and belonging through making music together.

Who is The Anna & Mickey Show?

The Concord group brings together songwriters, singers and instrumentalists whose parts shift around one another rather than treating the band as a collection of solo acts. The musicians named in the film are:

  • Anna Huckabee Tull: guitar and vocals
  • Mickey Zibello: vocals and guitar
  • Dave Carter: accordion, guitar and vocals
  • Kristin Moore: fiddle and vocals
  • Noah Mendelsohn: bass
  • Nick Buni and Eli Zibello: rotating drummers

Moore describes the appeal as creative rather than commercial. “Anna brings us songwriting skill, and Mickey brings us arrangement skill, and I get to be lucky enough to go along for the ride, lay low, and then have fun,” she says in the documentary. “That’s why we’re doing it. We’re not trying to build musical careers or make money. We just want to do a thing that feels really cool.”

What does the documentary follow?

Filmmaker Rob Whittlesey spent about a year filming the group. The resulting 40-minute film moves among weekly rehearsals, performances around Concord and the band’s first time recording together in a studio. Rather than presenting a career retrospective, it observes musicians working out how to make songs sound like themselves.

Whittlesey describes the ensemble’s chemistry this way: “There’s this interesting energy that happens when they play together, as opposed to working as a bunch of soloists,” he says. “They’re all having a good time trying to figure out how to make whatever song they’re doing [in] a way that’s truest to the way they see themselves as performers and musicians. That was fun to watch, and I hope that will come across.”

Mickey Zibello compares the intimacy of the collaboration to “being married to five people,” adding that each musician brings personal experience into the relationships. The film’s emotional thread is the work of listening, adjusting and building a shared sound.

Why does “Home” matter to the film?

Huckabee Tull wrote “Home” for the inaugural TEDx Walden Pond event in 2012 and performed it then with guitar. The band’s new arrangement is more upbeat and adds instruments, turning a song first presented by its writer into a collective recording. Huckabee Tull says of the original feeling behind it, “That’s the way it showed up for me, and I decided to stay true to that feeling.”

The lyrics draw on Concord’s landscape, naming its rivers, the “rude bridge” and Walden Pond. The article reports that Huckabee Tull had lived in Concord for 17 years when interviewed. Concord has three named rivers—the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord—but she kept the lyric about “two rivers” because the rivers converge.

Beyond place names, the song treats home as somewhere a person can feel safe and willing to be brave. That idea connects the local landscape to the film’s focus on the trust required to make music together.

Where can you watch or hear it?

The Concord Bridge reported on October 8, 2026, that a documentary trailer was available on YouTube and that the band’s rearranged “Home” had been released on Spotify in summer 2026. The reporting does not identify a physical release of either the film or the song.

The article also reported an October 2026 screening at the 1780 House for devoted followers. A broader winter screening was being planned, with Huckabee Tull seeking a Concord venue for a screening and performance. No confirmed public date, venue or ticket details were provided for that broader event, so check with the organizers for current access information.

How Concord shapes the story

Concord is more than a backdrop: its rivers, bridge and pond inform “Home,” while the film follows the group playing in the community where the song was written. Huckabee Tull describes the town as “a really fascinating mix of Native American energies and Transcendental energies and revolutionary energies.” The documentary brings that sense of place into focus through the band’s music and the relationships formed around it.
