What Graham and Bledel did at the Emmys
The Television Academy had announced both actresses as presenters ahead of the ceremony. At the September 14 event, they appeared together on the red carpet and later took the stage to present Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series. The Studio won the category. The moment brought the two Gilmore Girls leads together on an awards stage, rather than announcing a new series or revival.
Why the reunion marked a milestone
Gilmore Girls premiered in 2000, so the 2025 appearance coincided with the show’s 25th anniversary. The original series ran from 2000 to 2007, following Lorelai Gilmore, played by Graham, and her daughter Rory, played by Bledel. The Guardian’s coverage and Us Weekly’s report noted the anniversary.

#1 Best Overall
Graham connected the anniversary to the show’s autumn atmosphere in a joke onstage: “25 years ago, a show called Gilmore Girls premiered and apparently took the season of fall hostage.” The line was part of the Emmy presentation, as reported by E! News.
What they said about the show’s production
The presentation used a recreated setting familiar to Gilmore Girls viewers, and the actresses exchanged jokes about the show’s modest production circumstances. Those comments were stage banter and recollections, not an audited account of the series’ production history. The Hollywood Reporter covered the set and the remarks.

Does the appearance signal more Gilmore Girls?
The Emmy appearance itself does not establish a new season, revival, or other upcoming project, and coverage of the event did not report a separate announcement from Graham or Bledel about future work on the series. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, a four-part revival, premiered on Netflix in November 2016; that historical release does not confirm where it or the original series is available to stream now. Netflix’s 2016 announcement records the revival’s premiere.
