Harper’s Bazaar reported on May 27, 2026, that Hadid shared a springtime collection of family images on Instagram. The outlet described Khai drawing with Hadid, visiting New York City’s Intrepid Museum, holding a frog and leaving a note for her mother. In the images as described, Khai’s face is covered or turned away. These are details reported about Hadid’s post, not a guarantee that it remains available.

Why Khai’s face is usually not shown
In an open letter addressed to paparazzi, the press and fan accounts, Hadid asked them to blur Khai’s face when photographing her. ELLE reproduced the letter on July 6, 2021. Hadid wrote: “Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age, and that she can live as normal of a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen.”

Hadid explained that Khai wanted to see more of New York City, but she did not want her daughter to face the media attention that comes with having public-figure parents. Her request is about allowing Khai to decide for herself how to appear publicly when she is older. The letter is Hadid’s statement; it should not be treated as a joint statement from both parents.

What Hadid has said about raising Khai with Malik
In a Vogue profile published March 11, 2025, Hadid described how she and Malik coordinate parenting. She said they arrange custody schedules months in advance, adjust when plans change and support one another. Hadid characterized their relationship as co-parents as involving “love, and a feeling of camaraderie,” and said they were focused on raising Khai together with respect for each other.
