Three Ocean’s films make the top five
Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen occupy second, third and fifth place. They are counted as individual films, not combined into a franchise total.
The ranking is not a measure of popularity in every sense
A worldwide gross is not the same as a domestic gross, profit, or audience count. These figures are nominal reported box-office totals; the available sources do not establish an inflation-adjusted ranking.
Rank #2
Why other box-office lists may show different totals
Box-office databases can report different totals for the same film, so figures should be compared within one tracker and one dated snapshot rather than mixed together. The Numbers lists Gravity at $684,657,731, compared with $723.8 million in NaTelinha’s Box Office Mojo-attributed ranking. It lists The Descendants at $175,507,800, compared with $177.2 million there; Ocean’s Twelve at $362,989,076 versus $362.7 million; and Ocean’s Thirteen at $311,744,465 versus $311.3 million.
Box Office Watch reports Gravity at $723.0 million and Ocean’s Eleven at $450.7 million. Those differences are a reason to identify the tracker behind a ranking instead of presenting any one total as definitive. The list here retains NaTelinha’s figures consistently rather than combining databases.
Sources and scope
- NaTelinha’s ranking, published May 6, 2026, attributes its worldwide grosses to Box Office Mojo.

Because theatrical totals can change with re-releases, reporting updates or database revisions, the ordering and values should be read as the May 2026 ranking reports them.
