What is Gaslit by My Husband: The Morgan Metzer Story?
Lifetime describes Morgan and Rodney as childhood sweethearts who married young. The TV-14 suspense film follows Morgan after a masked intruder attacks her and her ex-husband arrives soon afterward. Netflix presents the movie as inspired by real events; its scenes and dialogue are a dramatization, not a documentary record of every detail.
Lifetime lists the 2024 movie at 1 hour 27 minutes. Netflix lists it at 1 hour 28 minutes. Jana Kramer plays Morgan and Austin Nichols plays Rodney. Lee Gabiana directed the film.

Where can you watch it?
Check both Netflix and Lifetime, then confirm the title appears in your local catalog before subscribing or renting. Netflix Tudum linked to the film on Netflix when its article was published, and Lifetime offers a stream link as well as a Lifetime Movie Club subscription option. Neither listing establishes that the movie is available in every country or will remain in a service’s catalog.

What happened in the real Morgan Metzer case?
The following chronology is based on reporting by Netflix Tudum and A&E, not on the film. Netflix Tudum reports that Morgan and Rodney met as teenagers, married in 2009 and had twins in 2012. Morgan filed for divorce in 2020 after years of emotional and physical abuse, according to Tudum.
Tudum says the assault happened around New Year’s Eve, about a month after the divorce was finalized. A masked assailant zip-tied, beat and sexually assaulted Morgan, then left with jewelry and cash. Rodney arrived about 40 minutes later and said a stranger had prompted him to come. These are details of the reported case; the movie’s retelling should not be treated as independent confirmation.
What reporting says investigators found
A&E’s report says investigators found zip ties in Rodney’s apartment that matched those used on Morgan. It also reports that surveillance footage showed a purchase of zip ties at Lowe’s roughly 36 hours before the attack. A&E further reports searches on Rodney’s phone and laptop about changing his voice, a cancer letter and choking. These details are attributed to A&E’s account of the investigation, which draws on other reporting and public records.
Plea and sentence
A&E reports that Rodney pleaded guilty to 14 counts related to the attack. It says that on August 17, 2021, he began a sentence of 25 years in confinement followed by 45 years on probation, and that he is incarcerated at Baldwin State Prison. Netflix Tudum summarizes the sentence as 70 years, with the same 25-year and 45-year split.

Why is it called a One Tree Hill reunion?
Kramer and Nichols both appeared on One Tree Hill and reunite as the leads in this Lifetime movie. In an interview reported by TV Insider, Kramer said Nichols was her first pick for the role because of their close relationship from the series. The connection is a casting reunion; it does not make the film a continuation of One Tree Hill.
