Recibió el alta más tarde ese mes y, en enero de 2026, volvió al hospital para una cirugía de hombro que dijo tener programada desde que salió del reality. La hospitalización respiratoria de diciembre
El 1 de diciembre de 2025, Telemundo coronó a Centeno ganador de la segunda temporada de La isla: desafío extremo, cuyo premio era de $200,000. La temporada había comenzado con 18 participantes, según el comunicado de NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises del 2 de diciembre. Unas dos semanas después, Centeno terminó en el hospital por un problema respiratorio.
En una nota publicada el 16 de diciembre, People en Español recogió el relato de su pareja, Lorena Del Castillo. Ella dijo que la oxigenación de Centeno había bajado de 85 y que les recomendaron aislamiento y controles frecuentes. La nota no especifica cómo se midió ese valor. Del Castillo describió el episodio como un “bicho respiratorio”; esa expresión no equivale a un diagnóstico médico confirmado.

El 17 de diciembre, Centeno publicó que tenía problemas previos en las vías respiratorias y que el regreso a Ciudad de México, junto con un virus que calificó de agresivo, le había afectado. El 22 de diciembre, La Nación informó que Centeno había recibido el alta tras varios días hospitalizado. Según ese reporte, él dijo que había presentado neumonía, bronquitis y asma. No se atribuyeron esos diagnósticos a un profesional clínico ni a un expediente médico consultado por el medio, por lo que deben entenderse como las condiciones que Centeno comunicó públicamente.
La cirugía de hombro fue otro ingreso
En enero de 2026, Centeno fue hospitalizado para una operación de hombro relacionada en la cobertura con lesiones sufridas en la competencia. La Teja informó el 21 de enero que la cirugía estaba programada desde su salida del programa y que Centeno dijo que el seguro del reality cubriría los gastos. “Desde que salí de la Isla ya estaba programada, así que no es nada nuevo”, declaró, según el reporte de La Teja.

En una actualización del 23 de enero, el medio informó que ya había salido del hospital después de operarse un hombro. La cirugía había sido exitosa, según la nota, y Centeno planeaba tratar el otro hombro más adelante. En ese momento estimó que podría retomar la actividad física en aproximadamente un mes; era un plazo previsto entonces, no una actualización sobre su recuperación actual.
