How does it connect to The Now Now?
The connection is in the design: Casio says the GWB5600GZ model’s colors are inspired by the hues of Gorillaz’s The Now Now. Casio also describes a display detail: illuminating the backlight shows “NOW.” This makes the album reference part of the watch’s palette and presentation, rather than simply a name attached to the collaboration.
The Now Now is an older Gorillaz album, not a newly announced release. Warner Records announced it on May 31, 2018, with a scheduled release date of June 29, 2018. The announcement described it as 11 new songs and listed CD, vinyl, digital services and a deluxe vinyl LP box set as formats. Warner Records’ announcement supplies that release context.

The available sources do not establish either claim. Casio’s product copy calls The Now Now Gorillaz’s “latest” album, but that describes the album’s status when the product copy was written, not its status today. The official Gorillaz website currently features The Mountain as out now while retaining The Now Now in its catalog. That context is a reason not to present the G-Shock as a fresh launch or as the band’s latest collaboration; it does not, by itself, determine when this watch first went on sale.
