Yes. Gabourey Sidibe and Brandon Frankel married privately in March 2021, then revealed the news publicly in December 2022. Sidibe said the two of them married at their kitchen table, without a wedding ceremony or guests.
When did Gabourey Sidibe and Brandon Frankel get married?
Sidibe said she and Frankel got engaged in 2020 and married about four months later. ABC later reported that their wedding took place in March 2021. They kept the marriage private until Sidibe disclosed it during a December 2022 appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan.
In recounting the intimate ceremony, Sidibe said, “We got married at the kitchen table.” She described it as just the two of them. ABC’s report on her announcement includes her account of the engagement and marriage.
Why did they keep the wedding so private?
Sidibe said she might have a wedding later, but that she disliked weddings. Her mother was a wedding singer, and Sidibe had spent much of her childhood at weddings. After the marriage became public, Frankel referred to Sidibe as his wife in a social media post.

What happened after their marriage?
In February 2024, the couple announced that they were expecting twins. In June, they announced that the twins, Cooper and Maya, had arrived in April. ABC News reported their pregnancy announcement; its report on the twins’ arrival gives their names and birth month.
