Hoffman proposed with a custom crossword puzzle that asked, “Will you marry me Gabby?” The Los Angeles Times reported that the couple described the wedding as costing $799 all-in. Windey said she bought an off-white lace dress after spotting it on a mannequin, and that it was the only one in stock. Photographer Big Nate photographed the ceremony, and the couple walked down the aisle to Chappell Roan’s “H-O-T-T-O-G-O,” according to the Los Angeles Times’ account of their interview.

Windey publicly confirmed their relationship on The View in August 2023. ABC News reported that she said they had been seeing each other for a couple of months. She explained that she had kept the relationship more private because dating a woman was “a bigger story and a bigger conversation.”
