Fyre Festival II was advertised for May 30–June 2, 2025, in Mexico, with Isla Mujeres named in its promotional description. That plan did not hold: organizers later said the festival would no longer take place in Playa del Carmen and were seeking a new location. The sources cited here establish no replacement date or destination.

In a statement quoted by ABC, Billy McFarland said, “I’m sure many people think I’m crazy for doing this again. But I feel I’d be crazy not to do it again.” NBC’s TODAY had covered an earlier reveal in September 2024; the February 2025 report gives the specific advertised dates and ticket-sale details. TODAY
What changed about the location?
In an April 16, 2025 letter to ticket holders, the festival team said Fyre Festival II would no longer take place in Playa del Carmen and that it was vetting new locations. The organizers described a sequence in which they first agreed to hold the festival within Isla Mujeres and later moved the plan to Playa del Carmen. They also claimed to have obtained government documents and permits, arranged a venue, and received promotional support; those are the organizers’ claims, not independently established facts in the cited reporting. The letter said ticket holders could request refunds and that no more tickets would be released before a new venue was announced. Ticket-holder letter reproduced by TMZ

The Guardian reported on April 17 that the festival had been postponed and that Mexican officials had previously said no event of that name was planned for the advertised location. The report also described the organizers’ position that they were vetting locations and still intended to proceed. The accounts should not be conflated: the letter records what the organizers said, while The Guardian reports both the postponement and the officials’ position. The Guardian
Is Fyre Festival II still happening?
The available announcements and contemporaneous reporting do not establish that the festival took place, or that a new date or destination was set. On April 23, McFarland said he had decided to sell the Fyre Festival brand—including its trademarks, intellectual property, digital assets, media reach, and cultural capital—to an operator. His statement expressed an intention to sell; it does not establish that a sale was completed. McFarland’s statement reproduced by TMZ

ABC News reported that SoldOut.com and FriendlySky were working with the festival on ticket and hospitality packages advertised at launch from $1,400 to $1.1 million. These are historical advertised prices from February 2025, not evidence of current ticket availability or a confirmed event. ABC News
The original Fyre Festival is a separate event: ABC News reported that McFarland admitted investors put more than $26 million into Fyre Media in connection with the original festival. That figure is not a Fyre Festival II cost, budget, or ticket-sales total. ABC News
