  • Around 11 a.m.: Ikner entered a campus parking garage and remained in the area for about an hour.
  • 11:51 a.m.: Police said he left the garage.
  • 11:56–11:57 a.m.: Police placed the first shots within this window.
  • By 11:58 a.m.: Multiple 911 calls reported an active shooter.
  • Noon: Police said responding officers shot Ikner and took him into custody.

What was reported about the deputy and firearm?

AP reported that Sheriff Walter McNeil said the firearm used was the deputy’s former service weapon and that it was found at the scene. AP also reported that Ikner had been a longstanding member of the sheriff’s office youth advisory council and had taken part in training programs with the office. These are attributed details about the reported relationship and firearm; they do not establish a motive.
