Ross Geller’s notable former partners on Friends include Carol, Julie, Bonnie, Emily, Elizabeth, Mona, Jill and Rachel. The women were played by actors with very different careers, but the available sources do not establish what each looks like today. Here’s the character-to-performer guide, plus selected, dated career updates where they can be supported.
Ross’s ex-girlfriends: characters and performers
David Schwimmer played Ross Geller. His significant relationships on the series include former wives Carol Willick and Emily Waltham, as well as Julie, Bonnie, Elizabeth Stevens, Mona and Jill Green. Rachel Green is central to his long-running on-and-off romance. This is a guide to notable relationships, not a complete list of every date or brief encounter in the series. Character relationship overview
| Character | Actor | Relationship context |
|---|---|---|
| Carol Willick | Anita Barone, then Jane Sibbett | Ross’s first wife; Sibbett took over the role after Barone’s single appearance. |
| Julie | Lauren Tom | Ross’s former graduate-school colleague and girlfriend. |
| Bonnie | Christine Taylor | Brief girlfriend introduced through Phoebe. |
| Emily Waltham | Helen Baxendale | Ross’s second wife. |
| Elizabeth Stevens | Alexandra Holden | Ross’s student girlfriend. |

Carol’s partner Susan, played by Jessica Hecht, is part of their family story—not one of Ross’s former girlfriends. Carol Willick character entry
What the actors have done since Friends
Jane Sibbett as Carol
A 2021 Glamour UK retrospective reported that Sibbett took a break from acting from 2008 to 2016 and directed theatre while living in Hawaii. That account is a dated snapshot, not confirmation of her present location or occupation. Glamour UK’s cast retrospective

Hecht continued working across television, film and theatre after Friends. The same retrospective points to roles in The Sinner, Breaking Bad and CSI; these are selected credits, not a complete or current biography. Glamour UK’s cast retrospective
Helen Baxendale as Emily
The 2021 retrospective describes Baxendale’s continuing television and theatre work and cites Midsomer Murders and the 2020 series Noughts + Crosses. Those examples establish later work, not her latest role. Glamour UK’s cast retrospective

Alexandra Holden as Elizabeth
A 2026 AutoReviewHub roundup lists Friday Night Lights and Rizzoli & Isles among Holden’s later credits. It is a secondary roundup, so treat those as selected examples rather than a full account of her career. AutoReviewHub’s cast roundup
Bonnie Somerville as Mona
The same 2026 roundup cites Somerville’s work in Code Black and the 2018 film A Star Is Born. These are selected credits from that source, not a claim about her most recent work. AutoReviewHub’s cast roundup

Lauren Tom, Reese Witherspoon and Rachel’s performer

The sources support a cast and character guide and a handful of dated career highlights; they do not establish a current appearance update for every actor. A claim about how someone looks now should be grounded in a recent, attributable photograph, rather than an old cast retrospective or an undated image.
One recent piece of Friends conversation concerns the story rather than the actors’ careers: a 2026 CinemaBlend report says Lisa Kudrow recently changed her view of the Ross-and-Rachel “break” debate. It is a timely fan-discussion detail, not evidence of what the women in this guide look like today. CinemaBlend report on Kudrow and the “break” debate
