The category includes different ratings, so “kids” does not mean every title is intended for the same age group. Use the rating as a screening signal and consider your own child’s needs.
Movies and preschool options
Tubi separates films and preschool programming from its Kids Shows category. The official Kids Movies category has listed Casper the Friendly Ghost (TV-G) and Transformers: Rescue Bots – Roll to the Rescue (TV-Y7). Its Preschool category has included Sesame Street, Clifford, Super Wings and Barney & Friends, with TV-Y displayed for several listings.

These category examples can help narrow a search by format and age range, but verify each title’s current listing and rating in Tubi.
What “free” means on Tubi
Tubi says its content is free to watch and supported by short advertising breaks. Its help page puts it plainly: “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” Expect ads rather than subscription-free, ad-free viewing. See Tubi’s explanation of whether Tubi is free and legal.

Choose Kids Mode or a linked Kids Account
Tubi offers two ways to give children a kids-focused experience. A linked Kids Account has its own settings and viewing history and is supervised through a parent’s Tubi Account. Kids Mode is a temporary switch to the family-friendly Tubi Kids library.

- Age-appropriate listening: Requested songs from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, or Pandora are filtered for explicit lyrics. Amazon Kids+ provides access to ad-free podcasts from Wondery Kids & Family and ad-free radio stations from iHeart Radio Family.
Understand ratings and set parental controls
Tubi’s rating guide groups TV-Y, TV-Y7, TV-Y7 FV, G, TV-G and PG as appropriate for kids; PG-13 and TV-14 as appropriate for teens; and R, TV-MA and NC-17 as adult ratings. Ratings are a useful first check, not a substitute for a caregiver’s judgment about a specific program. Tubi’s content settings and age-rating guide describes its categories.
- Open Tubi’s parental-control settings in a browser or a supported TV or streaming-device app.
- Choose content settings that fit your child, and secure account switching with a password and optional four-digit PIN.
- Allow up to 24 hours for changes to take effect. To speed up the change, sign out, fully close the app, then sign back in. Follow Tubi’s parental-controls instructions for the device you use.
Tubi says its Kids Mode instructions include Roku devices, so Roku is one option for watching on a television; a particular Roku model is not required, and hardware is not necessary to use Tubi on other supported devices. See Tubi’s Tubi Kids information.
