PE8006 is a Foxtel playback error linked by Foxtel to an expired CDN token and a failed video-playlist request. The fastest official remedy is to press Home (or change the live channel), wait a few seconds, then reopen Foxtel and try again. Foxtel documents this code mainly in its Foxtel Now support pages, so the exact controls can differ between Foxtel Go, the Foxtel app, TVs and streaming boxes.
What PE8006 means
A content-delivery network (CDN) supplies the stream to your device. Foxtel says PE8006 appears when the token used to request a playlist has expired. In practical terms, the app’s current playback session is stale. It does not automatically mean your subscription was cancelled or that the television is permanently faulty.
Foxtel lists the cause and first action on its PE8006 error-code page.
Try the official fix first
TV or streaming box
- Press the remote’s Home button.
- Wait several seconds for the app to leave the failed playback session.
- Open Foxtel again and select the same program.
- For live TV, change to another channel and then return. Foxtel specifically gives this option for the Foxtel Now box (see its box error-code instructions).
Phone or tablet
- Leave the program and return to the Foxtel Go home screen.
- Open the app switcher or recent-apps view and swipe Foxtel Go away.
- Launch it again and retry the title.
Menu names and force-close gestures vary by iPhone, iPad and Android model, so use your device’s normal app-switching controls.

If PE8006 returns
Restart the device
Turn off the TV, streaming device, phone or tablet and start it again. If a TV or box has a separate power adapter, disconnect it briefly, reconnect it and wait for the device to finish booting before reopening Foxtel.
Check whether the fault is local or title-specific
Try another live channel and another on-demand title. If possible, play the same program on a second supported device. This is a practical diagnostic, not an official Foxtel diagnosis:

Check your connection
- Open another app or website on the same device.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data temporarily, if practical. Mobile data charges may apply.
- Restart the router and move nearer to the Wi-Fi access point.
- Pause other high-bandwidth downloads or streams.
Foxtel’s troubleshooting material says speeds below 3 Mbps may warrant contacting your internet provider. That is a published troubleshooting threshold, not a guarantee of reliable HD or live-sports playback. Foxtel also states that low-quality viewing uses about 1.4 GB per hour, while Auto quality can use up to 3.2 GB per hour. See Foxtel’s loading guidance.

Update or reinstall the app
Update first
Install any Foxtel app update and update the device operating system where one is offered. Foxtel’s terms say older operating systems may eventually stop being supported and that the latest app is required on a compatible device. Compatibility changes, so check the current store listing rather than relying on an old minimum-version claim. The current Google Play listing is at Google Play.
iPhone or iPad
- Press and hold the Foxtel Go icon.
- Choose the option to remove or delete the app.
- Install Foxtel Go again from the Apple App Store.
- Sign in and retry playback.
Android phone or tablet
- Open Settings, then Apps, App management or See all apps (the label varies).
- Select Foxtel Go.
- Clear its cache if that option is available, or uninstall the app.
- Reinstall it from Google Play, sign in and test playback.
Reinstalling the app does not cancel your subscription; you will need to sign in again.
Refresh the account session
Sign out, close and reopen Foxtel, then sign in with the credentials associated with your service. Foxtel customers use a Foxtel ID; Foxtel Now customers can use their Foxtel Now username and password in Foxtel Go. A logout can refresh an expired session, but Foxtel does not list it as the PE8006-specific remedy.

Foxtel and Foxtel Now support up to five registered devices and two simultaneous streams, according to the Foxtel Now FAQs. If another stream is active, stop it before testing again.
Important platform and location limits
Foxtel Go is offered through compatible mobile and tablet devices, Chrome on PC, and Safari or Chrome on Mac. Foxtel notes that performance is not necessarily identical across every Android device; test another supported device before buying replacement hardware. Details are on the Foxtel Go page.

Foxtel Go is available in Australia only because of rights agreements. If you are overseas, restarting the app or router may not resolve access restrictions. Do not use a VPN to bypass them. Foxtel’s terms also exclude jailbroken devices from downloading the app: Foxtel Go terms of use.

When to contact Foxtel
Contact support or use Live Chat when PE8006 continues after relaunching and restarting, affects every title, appears on multiple supported devices or networks, follows a recent activation or package change, or prevents the app from being updated or installed. Check the current hours before calling because support schedules can change. Foxtel’s contact page lists existing-customer support on 1300 657 346 and displays technical TV hours of Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Victorian local time: Foxtel contact options.

- Device model and operating-system version.
- Foxtel app name and version.
- Whether live TV, on-demand content or both fail.
- Whether another device works.
- The approximate time the error began.

Is PE8006 simply an internet error?
Foxtel identifies PE8006 specifically as an expired CDN token causing a failed playlist request. An unstable connection can still prevent a fresh session, so test another app, restart the router and try another network where practical.
Does PE8006 affect Foxtel Go or Foxtel Now?
Foxtel’s published PE8006 instructions are filed under Foxtel Now, including Sony Android TV and Foxtel Now box support. Foxtel Go users may see similar playback behavior, but controls vary by platform.

Should I factory-reset my TV?
No. A factory reset is not a first-line PE8006 remedy. Relaunch, restart, update, reinstall and test another device before considering major device recovery.
Can I fix PE8006 while travelling overseas?
Foxtel Go is restricted to Australia. An overseas access problem may therefore persist despite local troubleshooting; do not attempt to bypass the geographic restriction.
