Fortnite’s Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season, GALACTIC BATTLE, began on May 2, 2025, and ran through its scheduled finale on June 7. During the season, players could pilot X-wings and TIE fighters, while training with a hologram of Emperor Palpatine taught the Force Lightning ability. The season has ended; these were features of a past event, not a current Battle Pass offer.
What was Fortnite: GALACTIC BATTLE?
Epic Games billed GALACTIC BATTLE as Fortnite’s first entirely Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season. It introduced Star Wars gameplay and content on a weekly schedule, culminating in an event called Death Star Sabotage. Epic announced the season on April 29, 2025, ahead of its May 2 start. Epic’s announcement described it as the company’s largest Star Wars collaboration with Fortnite to that point.
How did flying an X-Wing work?
The X-wing was a usable starfighter, not just a cosmetic appearance. Epic’s season guide said players could pilot one, fire its laser cannons and use it to travel quickly. TIE fighters were also available, giving players another Star Wars aircraft to fly. The guide establishes those roles and weapons, but does not provide comparative performance figures for the two ships. Epic’s GALACTIC BATTLE guide covers the starfighters and other season mechanics.
How did Force Lightning work?
Players learned Force Lightning by training with a hologram of Emperor Palpatine. The ability dealt damage, and using Force abilities required an equipped lightsaber. The lightsaber was a requirement for accessing the abilities, rather than the source of the power: Epic described the abilities as belonging to the player.

Palpatine was not the only Force trainer. The season guide also associated Rey with Force Push, offering a different ability from Palpatine’s lightning. The guide does not establish that either ability was permanently available outside the season.
What was the season’s schedule?
The season’s announced weekly themes ran from Imperial takeover to the Death Star finale. StarWars.com listed these dates and themes:

The season guide gave June 7, 2025, Eastern Time, as the end of the Battle Pass progression period. StarWars.com’s announcement also outlined the season’s weekly structure.
Could players still buy the Battle Pass?
No. The premium Battle Pass was listed at 1,000 V-Bucks during the season, alongside free rewards, but the progression window ended June 7, 2025, Eastern Time. That is a historical price and deadline, not a current purchase option. Epic’s season guide provides the original Battle Pass details.

Is this the same as Fortnite’s 2026 Star Wars islands?
No. In April 2026, Fortnite announced a separate Star Wars island initiative, with content beginning May 1, 2026. That initiative included a T-65B X-wing experience, but it was not the 2025 GALACTIC BATTLE Battle Royale season. The overlapping X-wing theme does not make them the same event. Fortnite’s 2026 announcement describes the later island initiative.
