Yes—Fortnite and Squid Game had an official crossover, announced by Epic Games and Netflix in June 2025. It brought themed cosmetics and a Reload map, alongside licensed tools for making Squid Game-inspired islands in Fortnite Creative and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). Those are distinct parts of the collaboration: the creator tools do not establish that a permanent, standalone Squid Game mode is available now.
What was included in the Fortnite x Squid Game crossover?
Netflix said the tie-in would arrive June 27, 2025, with themed cosmetics and a Reload map. Epic Games separately announced that Squid Game creator content was coming to Fortnite on the same date. Epic’s announcement included UEFN and Fortnite Creative resources that let creators make their own islands using licensed Squid Game material. Netflix’s announcement and Epic’s announcement describe these connected but different parts of the crossover.
Epic summed up the launch with the line, “Squid Game is now in Fortnite!” The announcement does not mean that every part of the collaboration was a single permanent game mode.
When did it launch?
- June 27, 2025: Netflix timed the Fortnite tie-in to this date, naming cosmetics and a Reload map. Epic also dated the arrival of Squid Game creator content to June 27.
- August 14, 2025: Epic said creators could begin publishing Squid Game islands. It also announced a dedicated Discover collection and a Netflix Picks row for the islands.
- August 26, 2025: Epic announced a Fortnite quest intended to encourage players to explore Squid Game islands. That was the announced start date; it does not confirm the quest is available today.
These dates and details come from Epic’s crossover announcement. The sources establish the historical launch, not October 2026 Item Shop rotation, current cosmetics prices, or whether particular island collections remain visible.

Can you play Squid Game in Fortnite now?
The official announcements describe a Reload map and a creator ecosystem of Squid Game-themed islands. They do not establish that a fixed, standalone Squid Game mode remains available today. Island availability and Discover placements can change, so check Fortnite’s current in-game Discover listings rather than assuming an island or collection from the 2025 launch is still there.
The sources also do not provide a complete cosmetics inventory or confirm current Item Shop availability. They establish that themed cosmetics were part of the June 27, 2025 tie-in, but not which items are currently purchasable or at what price.

What can creators make with the Squid Game tools?
Epic offered a Squid Game Starter Island and UEFN templates for minigames and social deduction. Its licensed resources included carryable spawners, props, NPC characters, voiceovers, disguise functionality, and throwables inspired by Ddakji and Flying Stone. Some devices can be used on any Fortnite island, while certain templates are UEFN-only. Consult Epic’s Squid Game tools documentation for the applicable tool requirements.
Creators could use Fortnite Creative or UEFN, but the template options are not identical: some are available only in UEFN. The setup is for creators building islands, not a requirement for players entering an existing island.

What are the publishing rules for Squid Game islands?
Publishing licensed islands requires joining the applicable Fortnite creator program and accepting additional licensing terms. Epic’s rules restrict creators to approved Squid Game assets, prohibit redistributing or modifying them outside the options provided, and do not support in-island transactions for this IP. Epic also says 15% of the island’s engagement payout is shared with Netflix. Is there also a Squid Game physical product?
Yes. Netflix’s announcement names the Squid Game MEGA Staircase Building Set among licensed collectibles. It does not confirm current stock, price, or availability through Amazon or any other retailer. Netflix also lists partner merchandise categories such as tracksuits, T-shirts, throw blankets, lifestyle accessories, and costumes, but those categories are not confirmation of present inventory.
