Was the sentence upheld on appeal?
Yes. On December 27, 2025, Yonhap reported that South Korea’s Supreme Court rejected the defendants’ final appeal and upheld the three-and-a-half-year sentences. The sentence therefore remained in place after the final appeal. Yonhap’s report on the Supreme Court ruling describes that outcome.
What does the available reporting establish?
The reports establish the charge as special quasi-rape, the July 2025 first-instance sentence and the Supreme Court’s December 2025 decision. They are news accounts rather than the full court judgments; the court’s detailed reasoning and evidentiary findings are not established here.
