The first official trailer for Flight Risk arrived on June 27, 2024. It sets up a suspense thriller aboard a flight across the Alaskan wilderness: Mark Wahlberg plays the pilot carrying an Air Marshal, played by Michelle Dockery, and a fugitive, played by Topher Grace. Lionsgate’s synopsis warns that not everyone on board is who they seem.
What happens in the Flight Risk trailer?
The setup begins as a transport mission: an Air Marshal is escorting a fugitive to trial, with Wahlberg’s pilot flying them across Alaska. As the journey unfolds, the passengers have reason to question what they know about one another. The tension comes from the confined flight and uncertainty over who can be trusted.

The headline’s “balding, unhinged hitman” description is not Lionsgate’s official synopsis. Lionsgate identifies Wahlberg’s character as a pilot; a secondary trailer report describes him as a hitman disguised as one. The official material supports the concealed-identity premise, but does not use “balding” or “unhinged” as character descriptions.
