The lawsuit involving companies associated with Fixer to Fabulous co-host Dave Marrs settled shortly before its scheduled January 2025 trial. The plaintiffs were Matthew and Sarah McGrath, and the defendants were Marrs Construction and Jupiter Rentals. Reports say the parties contemplated dismissal with prejudice after the settlement was completed, but do not disclose its amount or terms. There was no reported jury verdict.
What happened in the Fixer to Fabulous lawsuit?
Matthew and Sarah McGrath, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, sued Jupiter Rentals and Marrs Construction in February 2023, alleging breach of contract and warranty. The dispute concerned a home they had contracted to buy and work they said had not been completed or properly addressed.
TV Insider reported that the purchase price was $559,000. According to that report, the McGraths sought completion of listed repairs and described missing cabinet hardware, broken windows and problems with the hardwood floor in the kitchen. Those were the plaintiffs’ allegations, not findings made at trial. TV Insider’s account
The defendants disputed aspects of the McGraths’ account. TV Insider reported that they alleged the McGraths had refused to let company representatives or subcontractors onto the property. The lawsuit settled before a court could resolve those competing claims through a reported jury verdict.

When did the parties settle?
A trial was scheduled to begin January 27, 2025. TV Insider reported that a filing dated January 24 showed the parties had settled. Legal Reader reproduced language from that filing stating that the pending claims had been compromised and would be dismissed with prejudice upon consummation of the settlement. Legal Reader’s report
“With prejudice” generally means the claims cannot be brought again as the same case. The reported filing language makes dismissal conditional on consummation of the settlement; it is not, by itself, confirmation of the final docket disposition. The final dismissal order and settlement agreement were not included in the reports reviewed.

How much did the settlement pay?
The reports reviewed do not disclose the settlement amount or specific terms. The $559,000 figure is the home purchase price reported by TV Insider, not a settlement payment.
Legal Reader reported that an estimate close to $100,000 for addressing alleged defects appeared in observations cited in a filing by the plaintiffs’ attorney. That was an attributed estimate in the litigation, not a settlement figure, award or judicial finding. Legal Reader’s report

Did Dave and Jenny Marrs personally lose the case?
The reported defendants were Marrs Construction and Jupiter Rentals. The reports establish a settlement involving those companies; they do not establish a personal judgment against Dave or Jenny Marrs. A settlement is also not a verdict or, on the information reported, an admission of liability.
