First find out where the buffering occurs: on YouTube’s completed event replay, in the viewer’s network or device, or only in the cloud server’s replay-and-loop path. Play the original YouTube archive directly and compare it with the cloud-looped version. That comparison helps isolate the fault; YouTube’s general guidance cannot identify the cause in an unspecified cloud setup.
Start by identifying which playback is buffering
Compare the original archive with the cloud loop

Open the completed event replay on YouTube and scrub through the parts where viewers reported buffering.

Play the same section through the cloud loop, if that is a separate playback path. Compare the same timestamps rather than judging different parts of the recording.

Try the YouTube replay on another supported device and another network. YouTube notes that network congestion and other factors can affect playback even when a connection otherwise seems good.

If the original archive plays smoothly on YouTube but the cloud-looped copy buffers, focus your investigation on the cloud path: its source, any copy or processing layer, and the way it is being played. If both versions buffer, check the archive itself and test another device and network before attributing the issue to the loop server. These comparisons narrow the possibilities; they do not by themselves prove which component is at fault.
Check whether viewers mean live DVR or a completed replay
YouTube DVR is the ability to pause, rewind, and resume an active live stream. It is different from watching a completed event recording. YouTube says rewind may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours, and viewers cannot seek earlier than the stream’s start. Its live-stream guidance also warns that “Lower latency may mean more playback buffering.” Those points concern live playback and do not, on their own, explain buffering in a completed replay.
Confirm that YouTube has a complete recording
Check the archive and the event duration
Find the event recording on the channel and scrub through the beginning, middle, and end, including the timestamps where buffering was reported. A replay may be posted as a video on the channel after the live stream ends. YouTube says it can automatically archive streams shorter than 12 hours, but capture may fail for streams longer than 12 hours. Treat that threshold as an archive-risk check, not as proof that every shorter stream will be captured perfectly.
If the event exceeded 12 hours or the channel recording is missing, incomplete, or stops before the reported timestamp, the archive may be the problem rather than the cloud loop. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. While recording, check that the local archive file is growing and monitor the audio and video, so a separate copy is available to inspect if the channel archive is incomplete.
Check recording and DVR settings before a future broadcast
For immediate playback after a broadcast, Google’s YouTube Live API documentation says both recordFromStart and enableDvr must be true. The API documentation also says these fields cannot be updated after the broadcast is testing or live. If a setting is wrong, plan the correction for a future broadcast rather than expecting to change it mid-event. These settings address recording and post-broadcast availability; they are not a general cure for buffering in a completed video.

Inspect source-stream health if the archive or input may be affected
If the recording itself shows trouble, or the cloud loop depends on an incoming live feed, inspect the source encoder and YouTube stream-health warnings around the affected time. YouTube’s LiveStreams health descriptions identify low bitrate, insufficient incoming video, and keyframes sent too infrequently as issues to investigate. Its guidance says insufficient video can cause viewers to buffer and warns that keyframes sent too infrequently will cause buffering.

Low bitrate: check the encoder’s configured output and whether it is sustaining that output, then review the corresponding stream-health warning.

Insufficient incoming video: check whether video is reaching YouTube consistently, and whether the encoder or its connection had interruptions.

Keyframes sent too infrequently: inspect the encoder’s keyframe interval and the related YouTube warning. The cited guidance flags infrequent keyframes but does not establish a particular ideal interval for this unspecified setup.
These warnings describe stream ingestion and health. They are reasons to inspect the source path, not evidence that a later cloud replay loop is necessarily responsible.

Trace the cloud path when only the looped version buffers
When direct YouTube playback is smooth but the cloud version is not, record the details needed to distinguish the server, source, and playback layers. The problem description alone does not identify a cloud provider, region, player, protocol, or loop method, so there is no evidence-based universal server setting to change.

Cloud provider and region, plus the time and time zone of the buffering.

Player and version, and whether the problem occurs in more than one supported playback device.

What the cloud loop reads: the original YouTube archive, another copy, or a different source URL type.

The protocol and any transcoding, proxy, or other processing layers between the source and playback.

The loop method and whether buffering recurs at the same point in the recording.

Whether the same timestamp buffers on YouTube directly, and whether viewers on another network see the same symptom.
Share these observations with whoever operates the cloud server or player. A repeatable fault only in the cloud version points the investigation toward that path; a fault that also appears in the YouTube archive calls for checking the recording and source stream as well.
Troubleshooting: match the symptom to the next check
