Spoilers for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2: The original Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy destroy the Toy animatronics, but Charlotte Emily’s Marionette spirit survives by possessing Vanessa. During the credits, scavengers find William Afton’s Springtrap suit and take it toward a Fazbear-themed haunted house. An audio-only scene then delivers Henry Emily’s warning: “She’s coming for you.”
The ending: who wins and who survives
Charlotte Emily was killed by William Afton in the film’s backstory. Her spirit becomes the Marionette and controls the Toy animatronics. In the final confrontation, the original animatronics turn against those Toys and destroy them, helping Mike, Abby and Vanessa.

Why Vanessa looks like the Marionette
Vanessa’s Marionette-like facial transformation is the film’s visual confirmation that Charlotte’s spirit has not been defeated. Destroying the Toys removes the Marionette’s immediate army, not the spirit itself. Vanessa is therefore left as a continuing antagonist, a possible victim, or a conflicted character rather than a resolved survivor.
Mid-credits scene: Springtrap is taken to a haunted attraction
The first credits sequence follows three men entering the abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. They are collecting authentic-looking props for a Faz-themed haunted house before the old building is demolished, not merely trespassing for its own sake.

In a concealed room, they discover the deteriorating Springtrap suit. The scene implies that Afton’s body is still inside it. The men intend to remove the suit and use it at the attraction, turning a sealed piece of the pizzeria’s history into a mobile threat.
This is the film’s direct bridge to the setting most associated with a FNAF 3-style story: a commercial horror attraction built around Fazbear legends, with Springtrap brought in as its most dangerous “prop.”

Audio-only post-credits scene: Henry warns Mike
After the visual credits sequence, an audio message from Henry Emily addresses Mike. Henry warns that Charlotte and the Marionette remain dangerous. The message ends with the line, She’s coming for you.
An interruption in the recording suggests that the Marionette reaches Henry as he is speaking. The scene confirms that the apparent destruction of the Toy animatronics has not ended Charlotte’s story and that Henry understands the threat better than the surviving characters may.

How the ending sets up FNAF 3
The film establishes several sequel hooks, but it does not announce or guarantee a third movie.

Is William Afton alive in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2?
The film does not show Afton living as an ordinary human. It implies that his decaying body remains inside the Springtrap suit, where the ghost children had kept him trapped. In practical terms, the movie preserves Afton as a continuing supernatural or animatronic threat; “alive” describes his ongoing presence, not a normal biological survival.
How many credits scenes does FNAF 2 have?
There are two distinct credits sequences: one visual mid-credits scene featuring the discovery of Springtrap, followed by one audio-only post-credits scene containing Henry’s warning. The first moves Afton’s suit toward the haunted-house setting; the second confirms that the Marionette threat continues.
