Prime Video revealed the first-look image of Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir on May 12, 2025, during Amazon’s upfront presentation. The promotional still shows Cage in the character’s black suit; it is an image, not footage or a trailer. The finished series, Spider-Noir, follows a 1930s New York private investigator drawn back to his former life as a masked hero.
What the first-look image shows
The image unveiled at Amazon’s May 12, 2025 presentation to advertisers shows Cage wearing Spider-Man Noir’s black suit. TheWrap reported the reveal that day: TheWrap’s first-look report. It offers a glimpse of the character’s look, rather than a scene from the series.
Who Nicolas Cage plays in Spider-Noir
Cage stars as Ben Reilly, also known as The Spider. Amazon describes Reilly as a seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York. Once a superhero known as The Spider, he left that role behind; after a personal tragedy, an extraordinary case pulls him back into it. The series is based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Amazon’s official series guide provides the premise and current viewing details.
Is Spider-Noir connected to the animated Spider-Verse films?
The available official description presents Spider-Noir as a live-action series based on the Marvel comic, not as a direct continuation of the animated Spider-Verse films. The shared Spider-Man Noir character is not, by itself, evidence that the series continues those films’ story.
