In September 2023, reports said radio personality Fifi Box and Rocky Mangano took their blended family on a holiday during the school break. PerthNow initially described the destination as a mystery; New Idea later reported that the group was heading to Hawaii.
What was reported about the trip?
PerthNow reported on September 20, 2023, that Box and Mangano had been seen departing Melbourne Airport with their family during the school holidays, but did not identify where they were going. Five days later, New Idea named Hawaii as the destination and described the trip as the couple’s first joint family holiday.
The reports identified the children traveling with them as Box’s daughters, Trixie and Daisy, and Mangano’s son and daughter, Max and Charli. These details come from the publications’ accounts of the trip, rather than independent verification here. PerthNow’s September 20 report and New Idea’s September 25 report differ on how much was known about the destination at the time.
How the couple said they met
The holiday coverage followed Box’s 2023 announcement that she was in a relationship. In an August 2 report, PerthNow said Box and Mangano met through their children’s school. Box described a playground moment that helped start their conversation: “I think I was dragging her across the playground thinking it’s so embarrassing and I looked up at him and he was laughing his head off.”

What is known about their relationship now?
The 2023 holiday reports do not establish the couple’s current relationship status. A June 2024 New Idea story raised breakup speculation based on unnamed sources, but also quoted Box discussing their shared focus on parenting in a Mother’s Day interview: “For both of us our kids are our priority.” That story does not settle whether they are together now. New Idea’s June 24, 2024 report contains both the speculation and Box’s attributed comment.
