It paired the Jaguar’s 24-inch scale and distinctive switching with anniversary details, and launched in Mystic Dakota Red and Mystic Lake Placid Blue. Fender’s launch price and March 2022 availability are historical; they do not establish what the guitar costs or whether it is currently available.
What was the 60th Anniversary Jaguar?
Fender introduced the Jaguar in 1962 as a higher-end alternative to its existing Telecaster, Stratocaster and Jazzmaster guitars. The company says it chose a shorter scale to support comfort and playability. Its 2022 anniversary edition revisited the classic offset-waist Jaguar design, adding period-referential appointments and modern manufacturing. Fender’s historical account describes the original guitar’s advertising as calling it a “faster, more comfortable guitar”; that is a historical marketing claim, not a present-day performance measurement. Features Fender specified
The model’s core specification combines familiar Jaguar layout and controls with a distinctive finish and anniversary trim.
- Body and finish: Alder body with an offset waist and nitrocellulose lacquer, offered in Mystic Dakota Red or Mystic Lake Placid Blue.
- Neck and fingerboard: 24-inch scale, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays, and a matching painted headstock.
- Controls and circuitry: Lead/rhythm circuitry and a push-pull tone control. Fender says the push-pull control changes pickup phase in switch positions 2 and 4.
- Hardware: “F” tuners, Jaguar tremolo, adjustable string mute and an anniversary-marked neckplate.
- Included case: A hard-shell case with an embroidered anniversary logo inside.
Fender’s model-specific specification sheet identifies the product family as “60TH ANNIVERSARY JAGUAR (0170620XXX).” Check the full model suffix and finish when comparing listings. Official 60th Anniversary Jaguar specification sheet

How to distinguish it from the American Ultra Luxe Jaguar
Fender also mentioned a separately named 60th Anniversary American Ultra Luxe Jaguar in its anniversary announcement. That is a different product name, not another finish of the 60th Anniversary Jaguar described here. Fender’s announcement and the model-specific sheet cited above do not establish a full, apples-to-apples comparison across electronics, playing feel and current prices, so they are not enough on their own to recommend one over the other.
