How to watch the IMAX Enhanced version
The Disney+ release includes the IMAX expanded aspect ratio, which opens the picture to 1.90:1 for compatible presentations. The service may also offer IMAX Enhanced sound powered by DTS:X.
To select the picture version:
- Open the film’s page on Disney+.
- Look for the Versions tab.
- Choose IMAX Enhanced or Widescreen, if both are displayed.
On a compatible Android TV device, DTS:X can be enabled during playback:
- Open the player controls.
- Select Audio Options on the far right.
- Open IMAX Enhanced sound with DTS:X.
- Set it to On.
The expanded IMAX picture is supported on Disney+ supported devices, but DTS:X is restricted to certain Android TV models from Sony, Hisense, Sharp, and Xiaomi. The ad-supported Disney+ plan does not support IMAX Enhanced sound.
There is also an important quality limitation for computer viewers: Disney+ does not provide 4K playback in a computer browser, even when the subscription and computer display support 4K. For the highest available picture quality, use a compatible TV, streaming player, or game console rather than a browser window.
Can you download the film for offline viewing?
Yes, but Disney+ downloads are limited to the mobile app and eligible devices. Supported download platforms include iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, Fire tablets, Apple Vision Pro, and Meta Quest.

Downloads are not currently available on computers, connected-TV devices, or Windows 10 and Windows 11 tablets. The ad-supported Disney+ plan does not include downloads; an eligible Premium plan or Premium bundle is required.
To save the film:
- Open the Disney+ app.
- Search for and select The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
- Tap Download, which appears below Watch Now.
- Later, open the Downloads icon on the app’s Home screen and tap Watch Now.
