Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the third film in the Fantastic Beasts series. It follows magizoologist Newt Scamander on a mission connected to Albus Dumbledore’s effort to stop Gellert Grindelwald from gaining control of the wizarding world. The film opened in UK and Irish cinemas on 8 April 2022 and had its global theatrical release on 15 April 2022.
What is The Secrets of Dumbledore about?
As Grindelwald advances his bid for power, Dumbledore cannot confront him directly. He entrusts Newt Scamander with a mission carried out alongside a group of witches and wizards, as well as Jacob Kowalski, a Muggle baker. Their journey brings them into contact with both familiar and new magical creatures. The official synopsis establishes the broad conflict without requiring a detailed plot recap.

Dumbledore and Grindelwald were once close, a history that gives their present opposition a personal dimension. The film places that conflict within the wider Wizarding World while continuing Newt’s story as a magizoologist.
