What did Moyes mean by “more to gaming”?
Moyes said FAN EXPO wanted to represent more than the performers fans see or hear in games. “There’s so much more to gaming than just the voices and what you see on the screen, it’s also learning what’s going on for those founders and creators, and that’s a space that we want to move into,” he said in the 2024 interview. The distinction matters: a voice actor discusses performance and character, while a developer or creator can speak to the work and decisions behind a game. Moyes’s stated ambition was to make room for both kinds of perspectives.
What did gaming programming include at the 2026 event?
Coverage of the 2026 edition documented several formats. How does gaming fit into FAN EXPO Canada’s wider event?
The 2026 edition was FAN EXPO Canada’s 30th show, with programming across two convention-centre buildings and areas including anime, sci-fi and fantasy, horror, and gaming. Its marquee celebration included a reunion of The Lord of the Rings cast for the film series’ 25th anniversary. Global News quoted Moyes discussing two stage events with Hobbit cast members and a Sunday “Second Breakfast” experience.
