Actor Ken Stott is the one famous Hearts of Midlothian supporter in the available evidence whose allegiance is backed by his own detailed account. Several other prominent names are commonly listed as Hearts fans, but a list alone does not establish what each person has said or done. Here is what can be stated with confidence—and where the evidence stops.
What counts as evidence that someone supports Hearts?
Heart of Midlothian FC, usually called Hearts, is an Edinburgh football club. Its official history says its name comes from Sir Walter Scott’s novel Heart of Midlothian (club history).
A person’s playing or work history, a relative’s allegiance, a single match appearance or a joke is not, by itself, proof of personal support. The clearest evidence is the person’s own statement or reliable reporting that documents their allegiance, ideally with context such as family tradition or match attendance.
Ken Stott: a childhood connection to Hearts
The strongest documented example is actor Ken Stott. In an interview with the Foundation of Hearts, he described growing up in a Hearts-supporting family: “For me, I was five years old; we were a Hearts supporting family.” He also said, “My father, David, was a Hearts supporter.” (Foundation of Hearts interview)

Stott recalled that his father took him to Tynecastle when he was five. He initially thought they were visiting a castle; the crowd and atmosphere made the occasion memorable, and he said the club’s maroon and white drew him in. This is first-person testimony about a childhood allegiance, rather than a name appearing in a fan compilation.
The interview also places Stott among supporters who signed up to Foundation of Hearts during the supporter-led transition. He praised the club’s transformation and said he was proud to have his name on the tribute kit. Those comments belong to that historical context; they do not establish his current membership status or make a claim about present-day club ownership.

Four other names often associated with Hearts—but not individually verified here
A general Heart of Midlothian FC overview lists Stephen Hendry, Ronnie Corbett, Ken Stott, Alex Salmond, Sir Chris Hoy, Wattie Buchan and Eilidh Doyle as celebrity fans (overview listing). That secondary compilation is useful for identifying names to investigate, but it does not provide enough individual testimony to establish each person’s support history.
Stephen Hendry, Sir Chris Hoy, Wattie Buchan and Eilidh Doyle are among the names that might be checked for a five-person feature. On the evidence available here, however, there is no individually attributable account for any of those four. They should not be presented as confirmed supporters on the strength of the compilation alone. Nor does the available material establish whether any listed person’s connection involved childhood allegiance, regular attendance or another form of support.

Ronnie Corbett and Alex Salmond also appear in the compilation, but their inclusion there likewise does not amount to individual proof. Where a supporter has died, any verified account should describe their allegiance in the past tense rather than imply a current fan relationship.

Hearts reported on 13 March 2026 that Foundation of Hearts members had raised £20 million in contributions. The club’s CEO, Andrew McKinlay, called the milestone “simply sensational” (club announcement). That figure illustrates the scale of supporter contributions; it is not a count of celebrity fans and says nothing about the allegiance of any named public figure.
