The evidence does not substantiate five names, so adding two more would risk mistaking an unverified list or a one-off appearance for real support.
What counts as an actual supporter?
A celebrity photographed at a match or present at a club event is not necessarily a supporter. The people below have stronger evidence behind their connection: firsthand accounts of following Wimbledon, reported sustained involvement, or statements about attending games and supporting the club.
Three famous AFC Wimbledon supporters
Samuel West: actor and director
In a November 2024 interview with the Wimbledon Downunder Supporters’ Association, West described himself as a Wimbledon fan of more than 40 years. He said he began following the Dons as a teenager and supported the Plough Lane bond that helped bring the club back to its spiritual home. Recalling his first walk to a match at the new ground, he said: “I couldn’t believe we were back.”
His support is also a family affair: West said his daughters became enthusiastic, well-travelled Wimbledon fans, following both Dons teams on the road. Read the interview with Samuel West.

Jah Wobble: musician
The AFC Wimbledon Foundation reports that musician Jah Wobble has watched the club for years and goes to matches with his friend Iain McNay. Wobble has also explained what appeals to him about the club: “It’s a fan-owned club, so I love the vibe when I go to the games.” That combination of repeated attendance and a direct statement makes him more than a celebrity visitor. John Green: author and YouTuber
ESPN describes Green as a bestselling author, YouTuber and philanthropist, and reports that he has been involved with AFC Wimbledon since 2014. The club’s supporter-led rebirth after the relocation of Wimbledon FC is central to his interest. Why AFC Wimbledon’s story resonates beyond Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon was formed after Wimbledon FC relocated. Its identity is closely tied to supporter ownership and participation. The Dons Trust describes the club as wholly supporter-owned and run by democratically elected officers; the club’s 2025/26 Fan Engagement Plan also records fan ownership as central to the club and consultation on issues including its name, badge, stadium location and ownership.
That context helps explain the appeal of the club’s story to supporters outside its immediate area. It is important, though, to distinguish AFC Wimbledon from Milton Keynes Dons: they are separate clubs, and opinions about the relocation are not neutral facts. Why the list stops at three
Names including Marcus Mumford, June Whitfield, Alun Armstrong and Joe Armstrong appear in a secondary list, but the material available for those names does not provide individual testimony, matchgoing evidence or supporting references. A name on a list alone cannot establish genuine support. See the secondary list of possible supporters.
Accordingly, the evidence supports three verified famous supporters—not five. This is a limit on what can responsibly be confirmed from the cited material, not proof that no other public figures support the club.
