Happy Hell-O-Ween is the 2026 Family Guy Halloween special: Brian and Stewie wind up in Hell, irritate the Devil, and find themselves in charge. Its Brian-and-Stewie focus gives the episode a clear comic center, but the Halloween premise does not remain equally central throughout. Hulu premiered the special on October 5, 2026; Kieran Culkin voices the Devil.
What is Happy Hell-O-Ween about?
Hulu’s official synopsis sets up a supernatural punishment story: after 24 seasons’ worth of bad behavior, Brian and Stewie find themselves in Hell. They annoy the Devil, and the encounter eventually leaves the pair in charge. Kieran Culkin voices the Devil. Hulu’s official special page gives the premise; more detailed plot developments are best approached as spoilers.

Why the special feels heartfelt but unfocused
The strongest organizing idea is Brian and Stewie together. Laughing Place describes the episode as centered mainly on the duo and built around one principal plot rather than the parallel A- and B-stories common in Family Guy. That focus can make the special feel more concentrated on its central relationship, though it also leaves less room for separate Halloween stories to develop. Laughing Place rated the episode three out of five stars in its October 5, 2026 review. Read the review.

- Includes eight chilling effects on one DVD with multiple display modes; WANDERING HORDE, UNEXPECTED GUEST, BROKEN BARRICADES and ZOMBIE FEAST
- PLASTER DISASTER: Ravenous zombies punch and claw their way through a plaster wall
- ZOMBIE SHADOWS: Shadowy clusters of zombies loom behind frosted glass
- Includes four chilling effects on one DVD; Each effect can feature any of the three characters: the seductive debutante, the stern-featured gentleman or the creepy little girl
Joe Nazare’s October 5 review sees a different tension: it praises the gags and horror references but argues that Halloween becomes peripheral after the opening, noting that the masquerade itself is not shown. That is one reviewer’s assessment rather than a settled critical consensus. Taken together, the two reviews point to a distinction worth watching for: a story can be focused on its two leads while still feeling less focused on the holiday promised by its framing. Happy Hell-O-Ween is the 2026 special. A Little Fright Music is a separate 2025 Family Guy Halloween episode. Apple TV lists the earlier episode as season 23, episode 19, released October 6, 2025, with a 21-minute runtime and a TV-14 rating. Its story details—including a Halloween song and trick-or-treating—belong to that earlier episode, not to Happy Hell-O-Ween. Apple TV’s listing identifies the 2025 episode.
