Moldaver activates cold fusion, restoring power to the city, and dies from her wounds. Maximus is hailed by the Brotherhood for a killing he did not commit. Lucy leaves with the Ghoul to pursue Hank, who ends the episode gazing at New Vegas.
How the finale sets up the confrontation
The episode takes Lucy to the settlement where Moldaver is holding Hank. She does not simply rescue him. Before the situation resolves, she hears the history behind the conflict, and that history changes what the rescue means. The finale is less about breaking a prisoner out than about deciding what Lucy is willing to do with the truth she is handed.
What Lucy learns about Hank and Rose
Hank and the destruction of Shady Sands
Hank’s past includes the destruction of Shady Sands. Lucy learns this in the settlement, which means the man she has been trying to find is not the protector her journey assumed. The revelation colors everything that follows, including how Maximus later reacts to Hank.
Rose at Moldaver’s table
Lucy also learns that her mother, Rose, is now the feral ghoul at Moldaver’s table. This is the emotional center of the episode: the parent Lucy has been searching for is not recoverable in the way she hoped, and the question of what to do about her is forced into the open.

Moldaver’s plan: cold fusion
Moldaver’s objective is to activate cold fusion, a power source tied to Wilzig’s head and a code held by Hank. Hank provides the code, which is the turning point that makes Moldaver’s plan possible. Activation restores electricity to the city, and it is the one achievement of the episode that is delivered in full. Moldaver then dies from her wounds, so the power she brings back is her final act rather than something she gets to enjoy.
The Brotherhood raid and Maximus
The Brotherhood arrives to seize the technology, and the fighting that follows produces the episode’s most ironic turn. Maximus releases Hank before he learns that Hank was responsible for Shady Sands. Hank escapes in power armor.

Moldaver’s death then becomes Maximus’s problem. Brotherhood members mistake him for Moldaver’s killer and hail him as a knight. He is praised for an act he did not commit, and that praise sits uneasily beside what he has just allowed to happen. The finale uses this to show how quickly the Brotherhood’s narrative of events settles, whether or not it is accurate.
Lucy’s choice
The Ghoul offers Lucy the choice to stay or go with him. He warns that the Brotherhood will kill those left behind, which makes staying a dangerous option rather than a neutral one. Before leaving, Lucy shoots Rose to end her suffering. That act closes the question of whether Rose can be saved and gives Lucy the decision she carries forward.

The New Vegas image
The final movement follows Lucy, the Ghoul, and the dog after Hank. Hank reaches the Mojave and sees New Vegas, which is the destination the closing scene sets up. The image matters because it moves the story from a single settlement and a family conflict toward a wider setting, and because it ends the season on a destination rather than a resolution.

New Vegas is also a setting in the broader Fallout video game franchise, which the series adapts. The episode does not link this finale to any specific game, and nothing in the season tells viewers which game or storyline, if any, will follow it.
The finale also leaves the larger questions about the people behind the apocalypse unresolved. Those questions are left for a later story rather than answered here.

“Or you could come meet your makers”
The title echoes a line the Ghoul speaks to Lucy in the episode: “Or you could come meet your makers.” It is fictional character dialogue, spoken by the Ghoul, and should not be read as a factual statement by the narrator or any real-world figure. The line works as an invitation to the larger mystery of the series, and it frames the decision Lucy makes in the episode’s final stretch.
