Faith Sosene reached the grand finale of The Voice Australia in 2022 as a member of Team Jess, coached by Jessica Mauboy. Her run moved from a four-chair blind audition to a semifinal performance of “Listen,” then to two songs on finale night, 29 May 2022. Lachie Gill won the public vote; Sosene was one of the four finalists.
Her blind audition won four chairs
WHO’s 2022 contestant profile reports that Sosene auditioned with Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me,” which the outlet described as her mother’s favourite song. The performance turned all four coaches’ chairs, and Sosene chose Team Jess, led by Jessica Mauboy. WHO also reported that Mauboy fast-tracked her past the Battle Rounds. WHO’s contestant profile is the source for those audition and progression details.

The same profile described Sosene as a full-time carer for her mother, who had heart disease. That is the personal context reported alongside her audition; the available coverage does not establish further details about her family circumstances.
“Listen” secured her place in the finale
In the semifinal, Sosene performed Beyoncé’s “Listen.” WHO’s finalist coverage says the performance won her the final Team Jess place in the grand finale. She joined Lachie Gill, Thando Sikwila and Jordan Tavita in the four-person final lineup. WHO’s 23 May 2022 finalist article reports the result and the finalists.

Her finale performances with Mauboy and solo
The grand finale aired on 29 May 2022. Coverage lists Sosene’s solo song as “Beautiful” and her duet with Mauboy as “Emotions.” The pairing made her coach part of her final-night performance, following their Team Jess relationship throughout the competition. Mediaweek’s finale coverage reports the songs and event; WHO’s 29 May winner recap reports the result.
Finalist, not the season’s public-vote winner
The public vote crowned Lachie Gill, while Sosene finished the season as a finalist. Contemporary coverage said the winner would receive $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia; that was the winner’s prize, not an award to Sosene. The result and prize are reported in WHO’s winner recap.
