Paramount announced on May 5, 2023, that the original series would end with season 5, whose remaining episodes aired as season 5, part 2 from November 10, 2024. What viewers often call “season 6” is actually a collection of separately titled Dutton-universe projects, led by Dutton Ranch.
Is Yellowstone season 6 happening?
No. The original Yellowstone series concluded with season 5 rather than returning for a conventional sixth season. The final run was released as season 5, part 2, beginning November 10, 2024.
That distinction matters because several continuation projects have been reported or announced around the Dutton family. They are not episodes of Yellowstone season 6, and they do not form one officially titled sixth season.
What is replacing season 6?
The closest continuation is Dutton Ranch, a new series focused on Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser return as Beth and Rip, with Finn Little reprising his role as Carter.
