WrestleMania Mystery comes out on top. That order is an editorial judgment, not an official WWE ranking or a measure of audience consensus. WWE’s animated slate also includes WWE Slam City, a short-form series rather than a movie, so it’s listed separately.
The ranking weighs how naturally wrestling fits the partner franchise, how much the WWE performers contribute to the story, and the strength of the comedy and adventure for fans of both worlds. This is a guide to the series and crossover features established by the official sources cited below—not every animated appearance by a WWE performer.
WWE animated movies, ranked worst to best
5. Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania
The 2017 sequel brings WWE performers into the world of animated surfing penguins. Its appeal rests on an inherently playful combination: wrestling personalities dropped into a sports comedy built around surfing. WWE and Sony Pictures Animation presented the film as a continuation of the Surf’s Up setting, and WWE’s release summary lists it among its 2017 direct-to-DVD titles. WWE’s announcement also records DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital HD formats.
It lands at the bottom of this ranking because the crossover premise is more of a novelty than a particularly strong meeting of worlds. The penguin-surfing setup and the WWE personas can share a broad, family-friendly tone, but the pairing does less to make wrestling feel essential to the host franchise than the films ranked above it.

4. The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age SmackDown
This film translates WWE names into Bedrock counterparts, giving the crossover a clear visual joke from the start. WWE identifies John Cena as John Cenastone, Daniel Bryan as Daniel Bry-Rock, and the Bella Twins as the Boulder Twins. The name changes and prehistoric setting let the performers become part of the Flintstones world rather than simply guest stars passing through it.
The concept is immediately legible, and the wrestler-to-Bedrock-character transformations are its strongest hook. It ranks below the Scooby-Doo films because the supplied official material establishes the character adaptations and release formats, but not a comparably distinctive mystery or action premise. WWE announced the family feature for Digital HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. WWE’s film announcement has the cast details.
3. The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania
The future-versus-past setup gives this crossover a strong engine: George Jetson discovers a frozen Big Show, and when a wrestle-bot army takes over Orbit City, the Jetsons go back in time to recruit WWE Superstars. WWE’s announcement names Big Show, Alicia Fox, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Sheamus among the performers involved.
That combination of sci-fi, robots, and wrestling gives the film a more story-driven hook than a cameo-based crossover. Its lower placement reflects the narrower, more complicated premise compared with the clean mystery setups of the Scooby-Doo entries. WWE announced the film for DVD and Digital HD in 2017. WWE’s announcement outlines the plot and named Superstars.

2. Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon
The second Scooby-Doo and WWE feature takes the gang to an off-road race where a phantom racer called Inferno threatens to sabotage the event. The Undertaker becomes Scooby’s driving partner, while Triple H, Paige, and Sheamus are among the WWE participants. The racing setting gives the characters a natural reason to work together, and The Undertaker’s pairing with Scooby is an especially memorable bit of crossover casting.
It ranks just behind WrestleMania Mystery because its race-and-sabotage story is a lively fit for the franchises, but the first film has the more direct connection between the wrestling event and the mystery. WWE announced Curse of the Speed Demon for DVD and Blu-ray. WWE’s release announcement describes the race premise and participants.

1. Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery
The strongest crossover starts with a premise that needs almost no explanation: Mystery Inc. travels to WWE City for WrestleMania, then helps investigate a ghostly bear threatening the show. The mystery format gives Scooby and the gang a clear role, while the wrestling setting supplies the spectacle and stakes. Rather than merely placing WWE names beside familiar cartoon characters, the story makes the event itself the reason for the adventure.
That balance makes it the most complete fit for both franchises in this ranking. Warner Bros. and WWE Studios announced the animated feature in 2012, and WWE said it was available on DVD and Blu-ray. WWE’s announcement sets out the ghost-bear mystery and home-video formats.

The WWE animated series: WWE Slam City
WWE Slam City belongs beside the films, not in the same ranking: it is a short-form series, not a feature. WWE and Mattel announced 26 two-minute episodes in 2014, using stop-motion animation. Its premise sends fired Superstars to Slam City to look for day jobs, with characters including John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, The Miz, Rey Mysterio, Kane, Alberto Del Rio, and Mark Henry.
The quick format suits the comic idea of wrestlers trying to navigate work outside the ring. WWE and Mattel also announced a wider merchandise line, including toys, books, graphic novels, and home videos; that announcement does not establish what is currently available. WWE’s series announcement gives the episode count, length, and premise.
