USA Network’s March 2025 history identifies 10 WWE matches billed as unsanctioned through Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber on March 1, 2025. The list spans SummerSlam, Raw, WrestleMania, NXT and 205 Live. “Unsanctioned” is a specific billing—not a catch-all for every street fight or no-disqualification match.
What is an unsanctioned match in WWE?
USA Network describes the premise as WWE agreeing to stage the match at its event and provide a referee, while disclaiming further responsibility for what happens in the bout. The exact presentation can vary by match. For Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, WWE described a signed hold-harmless agreement and said referee Drake Wuertz’s duties were limited to counting a pinfall or recording a submission (WWE’s New Orleans event account).
WWE’s SummerSlam 2002 page billed Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H as an “unsanctioned Street Fight.” That wording illustrates why the advertised label matters: a street fight, weapons-heavy bout, or no-disqualification match should not be added to an unsanctioned-match history unless the event or its account identifies it that way.

The following chronological list reproduces the 10 matches identified by USA Network in its March 2025 overview. The count is through Elimination Chamber on March 1, 2025; it is that source’s published count, not a claim that every WWE result archive has been independently checked.

What the list shows—and what it does not
The matches appear across WWE’s main roster programming, Raw, NXT and 205 Live, rather than belonging to just one brand or event format. Several are built around personal feuds between former friends or allies, including Gargano–Ciampa, Cole–O’Reilly and Owens–Zayn. That is a recurring storytelling choice, not a formal requirement of the stipulation.
USA Network’s total is a useful, clearly dated historical count: 10 matches through the March 1, 2025 Elimination Chamber bout. Because the available sources do not establish a canonical WWE database covering every match ever billed this way, it is best read as the count in that published history, not a guarantee that no later match has been added.

Where to watch
USA Network points to Peacock for Gargano vs. Waller, while WWE’s 2025 event results page lists platforms including Peacock and Netflix. Those references do not establish current access to every historical match, and streaming availability can differ by country and change over time. Check the relevant event listing in your territory before relying on a platform for a particular bout.
