Taylor Swift has never publicly confirmed a song-by-song list about Travis Kelce. The strongest widely discussed candidates are “The Alchemy” and “So High School” from The Tortured Poets Department, followed by apparent references on 2025’s The Life of a Showgirl. The 2026 expanded edition, The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, adds four songs, but current reporting does not establish any of them as Kelce songs.
The connections below range from specific clues—such as a birthstone or a podcast reference—to broad football and relationship imagery. They are interpretations based on lyrics, timing and public events unless Swift has directly explained a detail.

How strong is the evidence?
| Evidence level | What it means here |
|---|---|
| More direct | Swift has explained a detail that overlaps with Kelce, as with the birthstone metaphor in “Opalite.” |
| Strong apparent allusion | A cluster of unusually specific lyrics and public context points toward Kelce, but Swift has not named him as the song’s subject. |
| Possible reference | A lyric can fit Kelce, yet it also supports broader or alternative readings. |
| Unestablished | The available reporting does not connect the song to Kelce with track-specific evidence. |
The Tortured Poets Department (2024)
“The Alchemy” — the clearest football reading
Listeners connect “The Alchemy” to Kelce because its language is saturated with football imagery: touchdowns, teams, benches, a winning streak, a trophy and the league. Sporting News describes it as the most heavy-handed apparent nod, but still treats the attribution as interpretation. The imagery makes Kelce a compelling reading without proving that the song has no other subject or inspiration.
“So High School” — courtship clues, not a named dedication
“So High School” fits the early Swift–Kelce courtship through several reported clues. The lyric “marry, kiss, or kill” recalls a 2016 video in which Kelce chose Swift, while “you know how to ball” can refer to his football career. The youthful tone also matches the public framing of their relationship. Those details are persuasive context, not a confirmation from Swift that Kelce is the sole addressee; the reported connections remain inferential.

The Life of a Showgirl (2025)
Coverage of the 2025 album identifies several possible Kelce references. Swift described the album’s broad emotional setting on an appearance connected with Kelce’s New Heights podcast: “And this album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour.” That statement supplies album context, not a list of song subjects. The Associated Press also reports Swift telling Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, “This album, by personality, was a funnier album.”
“The Fate of Ophelia” — team and megaphone imagery
Reports link “your team” to the Kansas City Chiefs and “calling on the megaphone” to Kelce’s public podcast-era attempt to meet Swift. Those are recognizable pieces of their public story, but they do not establish that every image in the song refers to him. ABC News lists the song among the album’s apparent Kelce references, while the Associated Press presents the clues as easter-egg interpretation.

- "Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person
“Opalite” — the most specific reported connection
“Opalite” has the strongest reported artist-linked clue. Swift discussed the stone in an interview reported by ABC: “I’ve always loved that stone, and I thought it was a cool metaphor, that it’s a man-made opal and happiness can also be man-made, too.” ABC places that explanation alongside the fact that opalite is associated with Kelce’s October birthstone. The comment supports the birthstone connection and the song’s metaphor; it does not amount to a complete confirmation that the entire song is about Kelce. Read the interview context in ABC News’ report.
“Wi$h Li$t” — relationship and family speculation
ABC highlights lyrics about wanting a best friend who is attractive and imagining a family, themes fans have connected to Swift’s relationship with Kelce. Those ideas describe a relationship state rather than a uniquely identifying event, name or object, so the lyric alone cannot prove a specific addressee. ABC’s coverage labels the Kelce link as a possible reference.

- Taylor Swift has announced her ninth studio album, evermore; folklore's sister record
“Wood” — New Heights and a redwood joke
“Wood” contains the phrase “New Heights of manhood,” which the Associated Press connects to the podcast hosted by Kelce and his brother Jason. The “redwood tree” image has also been linked to a joke Bowen Yang made about the couple. Both clues are playful and unusually specific, yet Kelce is not named in the song. The AP’s decoding keeps these links in the category of reported interpretation.
The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore (2026)
The expanded edition was released on September 25, 2026, and adds four songs—“Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon”—bringing the edition to 16 tracks. The date and track count are listed by Apple Music and stated in the Universal Music Japan release notice.
Rank #4
- The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th
“Patient Zero” — a toxic-ex narrative, not established as Kelce-related
The Associated Press describes “Patient Zero” as a narrator warning a new girlfriend about a toxic former partner. That storyline does not identify Kelce, and the available reporting does not provide a track-specific reason to assign it to him. A relationship narrative by itself is not evidence of a particular real-life subject. See the AP’s description in its Encore report.
“Cleveland!” — a place association is not proof
Apple Music describes “Cleveland!” as an upbeat song about finding someone who accepts the singer. Cleveland is associated with Kelce, who was born there, so the location can prompt fan theories. The sources available for this edition do not confirm that the place reference makes the song about him.

- Speak Now (Taylor's Version) features 22 songs, including 6 previously unreleased Songs From The Vault
“Pink Clouding” and “Babylon” — no established Kelce link
Current coverage does not establish a Kelce connection for either song. Their presence on the Encore track list is a release fact, not evidence about lyrical subject matter. Treat claims assigning either title to Kelce as speculation unless Swift or a reliable, track-specific source provides stronger support.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What Swift has actually confirmed
- Swift’s comment that The Life of a Showgirl concerns her “inner life during this tour” describes the album’s time period, not each song’s muse.
- Her Apple Music description of the album as “a funnier album” addresses its personality, not the identity of a romantic subject.
- Her explanation of “Opalite” supports the man-made-opal and happiness metaphor and gives context for the birthstone discussion; it does not confirm every fan interpretation of the track.
Bottom line on the Kelce song list
If “about Travis Kelce” means the songs with the strongest public evidence, start with “The Alchemy” and “So High School.” Add “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Opalite,” “Wi$h Li$t” and “Wood” as apparent 2025 references, with “Opalite” having the clearest reported connection to something Swift herself discussed. The four Encore additions are confirmed songs on a 16-track edition, but none is established by the available sources as a Travis Kelce song.
