The clearest Taylor Swift songs connected to Travis Kelce are “Opalite,” “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Wood” on the original The Life of a Showgirl. Swift’s reported comments give “Opalite” the strongest creator-supported link; references to the Kansas City Chiefs and Kelce’s New Heights podcast make the other two especially legible contextual readings. The original album does not name Kelce, so those distinctions matter. The 2026 expanded edition adds “Cleveland!,” which the Associated Press describes as an ode to their relationship.
Which songs on the original album are about Travis Kelce?
The original The Life of a Showgirl, released October 3, 2025, has 12 songs and a 41-minute runtime, according to Apple Music. Its tracks do not name Kelce. The strongest connections therefore range from Swift’s own reported explanation to interpretations grounded in recognizable references.
“Opalite” — the strongest creator-supported connection
Swift discussed the song in an October 3, 2025 interview with Capital Breakfast, as reported by ABC News. She explained the opal metaphor by saying happiness “can also be man-made, too,” and said Kelce loves the song. That attributed context makes “Opalite” the clearest creator-supported Kelce connection in the original track list; it is stronger evidence than inferring a subject from a birthday or other isolated detail.
“The Fate of Ophelia” — a strong contextual reading
The song recasts Ophelia’s tragic story as one of rescue and romance. ELLE’s interpretation links references to “your team” with the Kansas City Chiefs and reads the “megaphone” image in light of Kelce’s public podcast courtship. Apple Music’s editorial also connects the rescuer with Kelce, describing that identification as likely rather than explicit. Together, those details make the association persuasive, but it remains a contextual interpretation, not a direct naming of him.

“Wood” — a recognizable New Heights reference
The Associated Press identifies the song’s “New Heights” wordplay as a direct reference to the podcast Kelce co-hosts with his brother Jason. AP separately reports a more indirect pop-culture explanation for the “redwood” interpretation. The podcast reference is the firmer connection; the additional interpretation should not be treated as equivalent evidence.

- “Eldest Daughter”: ELLE interprets its vow and shared-memory imagery as devotion to Kelce.
- “Wi$h Li$t”: ELLE reads its imagined home and family life as a future with him. That is an interpretation of the song, not evidence of private plans.
- “Honey”: ELLE sees the term of endearment as taking on a newly affectionate meaning in the relationship. AP also notes that the song’s color references echo physical album variants; that rollout interpretation does not establish that every line is about Kelce.
These readings are useful context, but they are secondary interpretations rather than equally explicit confirmations from Swift. See ELLE’s discussion of the album’s Kelce references.
What does Swift’s album context tell us?
In an October 2025 album guide, AP reported that Swift described The Life of a Showgirl on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast as being about “what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life” during the Eras Tour. That frames the record as reflecting a period in her life; it does not make every romantic lyric a biographical statement or identify Kelce as the subject of every love song. The album’s personal context and a specific song’s evidence are not the same thing.

“Cleveland!” — the clearest later relationship song

Three added songs not established as Kelce songs
AP describes “Patient Zero” through a toxic former partner, “Pink Clouding” through regret about an earlier relationship and “Babylon” through nostalgia for a lost relationship. That coverage does not establish Kelce as the subject of any of the three, so assigning them to him would go beyond what is supported.
AP also reports that Swift wrote in her Instagram announcement that the added songs “were born out of pure gratitude” for fans’ celebration of the album. That statement explains the Encore’s stated context, not the identity of every song’s subject. See AP’s coverage of the Encore tracks.
