Marvel’s March 26, 2025, Avengers: Doomsday livestream was a cast reveal and production announcement, not a plot synopsis. Disney says it ran for five hours and 27 minutes and unveiled 27 cast-member chairs. The names brought together actors associated with the MCU, the Fantastic Four and earlier X-Men films—but the chair-by-chair reveal did not explain the film’s story or specify who would share scenes.
What happened during the livestream?
Marvel Studios announced on March 26, 2025, that production had begun on Avengers: Doomsday. The global livestream revealed cast members using chairs bearing their names. Disney’s March 26 announcement named the newly announced performers and said Anthony and Joe Russo would return to direct both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Disney’s March 28 recap says the stream began at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT, lasted five hours and 27 minutes, and unveiled 27 cast-member chairs. Disney reported 275 million digital views and 3.1 million social interactions across platforms, as well as more than 55 distinct trending terms on X during the day. It said #AvengersDoomsday held the No. 1 trending position for more than seven hours. These are company-reported promotional metrics, not independently audited audience measurements in the cited sources; Disney described the event as Marvel Studios’ biggest-ever livestream.
The recap also reproduced Marvel Studios’ tease: “There’s always room for more…” Disney did not identify an individual speaker for that line.

Which franchises did the cast connect?
The lineup gathered performers familiar from several Marvel screen franchises. Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh and Tom Hiddleston are among the actors associated with the MCU. Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are the Fantastic Four cast. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn and James Marsden are associated with earlier X-Men films; Channing Tatum has played Gambit. ABC’s contemporaneous report also provides role and franchise context.
Those connections help explain the scale of the crossover, but the cast announcement does not establish the full plot, character relationships or which performers will appear together in scenes.
